The Wife Made Me Do It

I've always gone by the philosophy "Happy Wife, Happy Life". I think that applies double when the wife is pregnant. Probably more. Just to be on the safe side.

So when Mrs. G asked if we could grill lamb this weekend, I said "Yes, Dear" And when she asked if we could cut down all the remainder of our basil and make pesto, I said "Yes, Dear". And when she asked if I could also cook a spatchcock and then use the pesto and the chicken to make a pizza, I said "Yes, Dear" It's really not all that hard to say "Yes, Dear" to my beautiful wife.

So Sunday night officially started my football season. First game at McLane stadium and my Bears did pretty good. I cooked three lamb chops for us. Wife wanted them plain, so just salt on two. I did Cluck and Squeals Beef Specific on mine. Seared 'em all off on the Mini. Apparently, I can't take a pic worth a darn anymore, but here they are.

So out of the habit of taking pictures, that I forgot to take some of the chicken on the Egg, but I did snap one when I remembered it post hacking it into pieces.

And then, I totally forgot to take pictures of either pizza on the Egg. This was the second one. Didn't think to take pictures of the first one till it was already in our bellies. I really got to get back on the ball with taking pictures. Can guys have pregnancy brain, too?

Somewhere in between all the "Yes, Dear"s, I had time to brew up two 1 gallon batches of beer as well. On the left is a pumpkin porter that I hope will be ready in time for Thanksgiving. The one of the right, I'm gonna call a Texas Nut Brown Ale because I tossed some chopped up Texas pecans in the mash and in the fermenter. Have no idea what, if any, effect it will have but that's the beauty of a one gallon batch. If I screw it up, I'm only out 8-10 beers instead of 48 like a 5 gallon batch.

Kinda glad the weekends over. I need to get some rest. ;)
