Or you can grow them on your own like we do out here in Georgia! We used the seeds from the chiles we brought back home from Albuquerque last year to grow our own. I've already roasted over a dozen on the egg with plenty more coming off the plant. We love to introduce the Georgia natives to hatch green chiles!

Assuming they've already been roasted and still have the charred skins on them, take them out of the freezer and thaw them out. Use gloves and remove the outer charred skin. Cut the stem off and then put the chile on top of whatever it is you are eating. More than likely they will be pretty hot, so give them a small taste test first to judge how much heat you can take at a time. There are plenty of recipes online showing you all the different ways you can enjoy them.Cookinbob said:My son has a friend who just moved to Colorado. What do I do with them?Once the chiles have been thawed and peeled, store them in the fridge up to 2 weeks. Usually you only thaw what you'd eat in that time period so they don't go bad. @fence0407 but if you grew them in GA, wouldn't they not be Hatch chiles anymore and just plain ole green chiles?

Think you are correct @Griffin - kinda like champagne can only come from the Champagne region of France, the same stuff from anywhere is else is just a sparkling white wine.Griffin said:@fence0407 but if you grew them in GA, wouldn't they not be Hatch chiles anymore and just plain ole green chiles?
Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -
