They disappear down this 70 foot ravine behind us. I suppose if the creek quits running and it fills up (hahaha) I will have to re-address my solution!

If I think about it, they go in compost or garden. If not, into a plastic bag and the landfill.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

Actually scatter some them through wife's garden and then dump the rest in the alley on the weeds."Hold my beer and watch this S##T!"

Just remember that dumping your ashes in your garden or bushes will change the pH of your soil. That maybe a good thing or a problem depending on where you live and what you are trying to grow.

I dump them on my asparagus beds and compost. Check your soil pH first since they will raise alkalinity..

I dump mine in the woods line at my house.
As @Griffin indicated, dumping in your yard or garden could change your pH. Unless you know your pH, and could benefit from some adjustment, I wouldn't dump it there.

And make sure they aren't still lit when you dump them in your compost piles. Or anywhere else. Does that need to be said? In this world we live in nowadays...probably.

I have a large metal bowl I scrape mine into. It can hold about five cooks worth or ashes (maybe more). When it gets full, I dump. I spread mine out thinly to ensure nothing is smoldering still.

I throw mine into my tomato and herb garden, I always remember mario batalli saying you should only buy san marino tomatoes grown on the slopes of mount vesuvius where the earth is rich in ash, and makes for wonderfully tasty tomatoes.

Throw them in a metal garbage can with the coal stove ashes. Take them to the dump when full. The can accumulates all summer, and take them to the dump more frequently in winter.Steven
