Simple Sunday Supper

Nothing special tonight. Found a couple of sirloins and New York strips that was reduced for quick sale so I jumped on them. It's hard for me to pass on 4 steaks for less than 15 bucks total price. Going to make a few kabobs and sausage as well. Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. Will post pics as it comes together.image

    Because it was reduced meat thought I would experiment with a 3 way rub combination just to see how it would taste.

    @sgh - when you take pics with your iPhone make sure the home button is by you right thumb. Turn phone sideways and button to the right.

    Nice shots @SGH‌ so which rub got voted off the island so to speak? I have yet to try or see any DP product (haven't even seen it sold anywhere in Jax or surrounding area). I know I could order it but, truthfully I don't use or buy to many premade rubs. I guess I really like the use of basics like kosher salt, coarse pepper, fresh herbs and dried herbs etc etc. I like to play with the flavors. But, that's not to say there aren't any good commercially made rubs, marinades, sauces etc out there because there most definitely are some.

    Because the meat was reduced for quick sale I sprinkled all 3 of them on each steak as a experiment. Have not got to eat a steak yet to see how it turned out. Just put some sausage on and I'm still watching it. I will sure let you know how I like the combination when I get to eat. Thanks for the kind words my friend. Here is sausage going on.image

    Glad it's working out for you... Happy to help. I've certainly taken my fair share of knowledge from this forum regarding cooking on the egg and in general: as well as an invaluable amount of help and knowledge from various photography forums. Always believed in trying to make sure I at least pay it back as forward when I can.
