Raccoon invasion. Morality question.

@NPHuskerFL - I've spent a lot of time in the swamp and the marshes and I've never really been afraid of gators.  The worst experience I had in abject fear was when we were cruising through Honey Island swamp and the motor came off my Campagna skiff and sank.  Pulled it up by the battery cable, but it was dead.  Marched through the swamp North in through the night.  Just had the remains of a case of beer and no supplies, light or fire.  Waded through water waste deep and ended up scraping together a bed of mud and leaves for warmth (this was in December).  In the middle of the night, heard what we thought were shotgun blasts, but turned out to be beavers slapping their tails.  In the morning we found an old camp with one wall missing.  In the cabin there was a map, put there by the park ranger, that showed the way out.  Another few hours and we made it to a field and then a road, and the first vehicle we saw was the ranger, who drove us back to his dock and towed our boat out.  I was AWOL from work at this point and this was in the early 90s, no cell phones.

@DTEgg - thanks.  For now our problem is gone.  No more home invasions after we caught three one night right right by the cat door.  Two eventually escaped before we could wake up enough to relocate them.  The third was relocated.  I presume the two that escaped had a bad time in captivity - bloodying up their paws trying to get out - that they won't come back (I hope).  If they do, we'll catch them.

Thanks @Lit - yeah, my brother had one of those RFID pet doors.  He didn't recommend it for me.

Coons are gone.  No problems, traps worked.
