I have to say that none of these 'off-the-wall' comments should be taken too seriously. Life's too short and now I have more time to use my egg but I will admit to a mischievous sense of fun when trading words. There are some masters on here, for sure. I wish I had the technical dexterity to add gifs and all the rest of the entertainment. Stay tuned………...

Although "esq" implies a lawyerly association, I can infer that you are at least very likely not a trial attorney, or you would be better skilled at verbal banter, wit, badinage, and raillery.

I will withdraw, as a sport offers no real reward when the opponent is lesser skilled to the degree I am sensing you are.  Unfortunately, this is not golf, where we (and especially others, neutral) could add or subtract a definitive number of strokes to your scorecard, in order to compensate you for your inabilities and bring you closer to me for purposes of declaring a winner.

The esq. reference is merely an indication of being an English male. In matters related to mail an address requires one of 'master, mister (Mr) or Esq. and makes no representation as to profession.
Your reference to a handlcap may have other implications as a ruse by the use of egotistical perceived superior linguistic capacity. I, too withdraw from this unrewarding thrust and parry.
I thought esquire signified that a man was a landowner.

'Esq' is an affectation many lawyers adopt.  It has no legal meaning in that regard, but it doesn't stop many lawyers from using it.

Yes I agree that some barristers and solicitors do use esquire in the US. In Canada and the rest of the British Commonwealth I believe it does mean "land owner" Says so on my deed anyway.

So as an avatar I designed a green egg in a top hat and an English tongue-in-cheeck attachment. I guess it was bait too English. Whatever.

I always thought it was associated with attorneys, and in the US it is. In England, it enjoys a broader use.

5 times a charm. I went through old trolling threads and the usual suspects were grayed out.

Can we gray out entire threads?
