Been years since I have been to New Orleans and Mardi Gras.  With today being Fat Tuesday anyone cooking something good hat corresponds to Mardi Gras?

We will either do steaks on the egg or go out later today.  Our neighborhood restaurant is opening special for Mardi Gras afternoon.

It's really gross here in New Orleans today - 30s and rainy.  Not motivated to hit the streets just yet, but will likely have a few cocktails to celebrate the day.

Thinking about doing ATK gumbo. Really easy, and yields great results.

My wife is going to try and make a Gumbo tonight - Chicken and Andoullie sausage style (She wont eat shrimp/crawfish)

Italian wedding soup and burgers. Maybe I'll use a Fasnacht for the burger bun.

Please oh please...use a Fasnacht for the burger bun!!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

And I thought you were a sick puppy with the chicken and waffle post..... glazed burger buns?

Have the chicken and waffles all set up, no egg, but looks to be a great Fat Tuesday meal.

Mrs. TJ vetoed the chicken and waffles. Adding some Pastina, spinach and meatballs to the weekends chicken soup for wedding soup. She will probably veto the glazed bun, but my son will love the idea. We'll see.

The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

Didn't know it was fat Tuesday. Pepper stout beef is on, first time trying it.
1 hr left to go covered, may do some time without any foil to reduce.image
