I ordered the Lodge 17" CI skillet and was stoked when it arrived. My enthusiasm was met with reality when I placed it on my large Egg. Dang thing was too big. No worries, I thought, I'll order the 15" version. Crap! They apparently do not make a 15" version. Anyway, I'm having a terrible time finding 15" CI skillet with just the side " handles"....not the version with the 1 long handle. Any help out there?

That's too bad the 17 inch wouldn't fit! How close was it?I think you may have to consider getting a smaller piece like a 12 inch, or cutting the handle off a 14 inch if you want a skillet. They do have this one- more like a griddle:Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Pretty close. Without the handles it would have fit. Still too big though for practical purposes. I believe 15 is the perfect size for me. I'm going to look into cutting off the handle and leaving a nub. I believe that is my solution. This is what I use and works fine.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -
Still begs the question to Lodge.....why don't you offer a 15" to compliment the 17" skillet? @4Runner... what do you want to do with the skillet? You could probably use this for anything you'd do with the skillet (from the Lodge web-site)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

Take a look at bayou classic skillet and griddle. Both come in 14 inch and fit on large with handles cut off. I almost exclusively use the griddle for cooing and blackening. Fits in the CGS spider and fire ring level.LBGE, Burgeoning Accessories

Searing meat and blackening seafood cooks very fast, so even a smaller Skillet works fine for most meals.

I wend ahead and ordered the 15" CI. I plan on using a hacksaw to reduce the handle length. @YEMTrey - that floating helmet of yours looks awfully familiar....when was the last time I saw a Michigan helmet flying through the air.....hummm ) Seriously, I kind of wish I had gone with the XL but oh well. I'm doing just fine with the L<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I easily cut the handle off and it works great. I think I will add a smaller CI skillet to my arsenal later. Thanks again.
