Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Here in PA it feels more like Thanksgiving instead of the kickoff of summer.
I know this is a big BBQ weekend for most. For Eggers; it's just another weekend
Thank you to everyone that ever signed that check for freedom; those that had it sadly cashed, and those lucky enough to have it returned... You are what has made evenings like this possible. Thank you...
No egging tonight for me; still have leftovers from the pork loin. Not sure what'll be on the egg tomorrow. Sunday heading to Mom's...
Not burning any lump; but I am burning a decent stick and sippin some Jameson listening to the Tigers game hoping Miggy stays hot...
Cheers!!!

Happy Memorial Day to you too Hap. I'm enjoying Landshark Lager and listening to the Braves beat the Mets. Freddie Freeman jacked a two run shot in the first inning. I hope they can keep up this run they're on.

@Charlietuna- Great gesture-can't imagine the sea-stories fueled by time and adult beverages. I'm sure all will appreciate the BGE groceries! Submarines once...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Enjoy the weekend, take a moment to thank a veteran if you meet one, and say a word or two for those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Grew up an Army brat, father and other family members served in both Canadian and US Army.Nice stick choice @Hapster - My humidor is empty!Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

There is one sub sailor who is 94 years old, stowed away on a sub in 1941 as it was leaving on a war patrol. The skipper made a torpedoman out of him. Think the name of his original sub was R-16? Talk about sea stories!!!

My father and all 6 uncles were WWII vets... All came home. My dad was a B-17 pilot. 35 missions. Enlisted and choose the Army Air Corp; figured it would be faster nosing in compared to being in a foxhole. I remember asking him why not the Navy; he said to me "look at me son, I'm built to sink" LOL...

Hap, that's a great card. I just got back from NOLA a couple weeks ago and went to the Natonal WWII museum and they had a B-17 hanging. Beautiful airplane, huge too!!

Headed out for a 60+ day submerged patrol out of Guam .....

Love the card Hap. My Dad was a20 year Navy veteran, on the Missouri when the treaty was signed. Thanks to all Veterans this weekend. Central PA is also cold tonight, but looking forward to a weekend warmup and some good Egging with family.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. Go tigers. Plan on doing the same. Working on my bbq area, cook some Q, have a drink and listen to some good baseball. Miggy has been on fire.

Sanchez was close. Great job. Tomorrow night hopefully the Red Wings will put away the Blackhawks. Working at a cattle branding tomorrow in Wyoming. Monday I will take my first crack at a brisket. USDA Choice 7 pounder. Planning on salt & pepper. 225 until the outside color is what I want then wrap in foil to 195. Will finish in towels in a cooler for a few hours.
Hap--I tried a 1502 Ruby cigar from a store I found when I was in Michigan last week. Not bad.

Awesome card Hap. My Dad flew 52 missions out of Watton, England in B-17s as a navigator. He's a hero but in his mind he was just doing what all the boys his age were doing. Still kicking at 89 and I hope I get to wish him another 20 happy Memorial days.To all who gave their lives, who were willing to give their lives, and those who waited back home for them, God bless and salud!!

In today's society I can not imagine asking a 19 year old too come to the aid of his country.
