Firing up the egg to do some pork chops and got a real fireworks display. This is the second cook with this bag of WG and it was worse this time. First time I have had this experience with WG. Quite a display though!

WG is known to be excellent but this has been documented on here before. I get that with Ozark oak from time to time as well. Not sure why but it's a fact of life when cooking with lump.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

It's a bit of a pain, but you can minimize the sparking by removing any leftover lump (when cold, of course) and putting a layer of it over the fresh lump.

Since it's winter I'm not scared either. We have lots of open space behind our back wrought iron fence. If it were summer with all the dry grass I would be a bit frightened though.George -

I wish I had taken pictures but I got worse than that from Cowboy tonight!! It seemed to hold a lot of heat when burning bout 400 and burping was definitely needed, at one point I had flames shooting thru the DW.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Live in No. Cal so by September, with 4-5 months with 0 rain, i would say real dry.George -
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

Am I the only one that was disappointed that there wasn't an actual fireworks show?? [-(Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....
