IN REMEMBRANCE OF CAR WASH MIKE

Molly, I hope we get to meet someday, but I have to tell you, that was a wonderful and heartfelt post! Thank you for that!
-
HaHaHa, good memories at Eggtoberfest 2009... I remember that pic being taken. CWM just couldn't get away from Poot fast enough!!! Lol
-
I haven't done baby backs in forever. These were for you, CWM.
There were only partial racks and enhanced ribs on display but I told my wife she had to get good baby backs. The meat dude went into the back and pulled out two gorgeous IBP all natural loin backs. I like to think Mike nudged the meat dude in the right direction in selecting them.
Godspeed, Mike.Knoxville, TN

wish i could have been there ,, i got your 2 racks in the tally .

I tried to find pics that no one else had a pose of. And I did it. We were fortunate to have met Mike's parents last year at the Denver fest. Luckily...I got a shot of them. Something he always wanted was family with him at an eggfest.
Love you Mike...RIP.
This one's for Mom and Dad McKernan

i've got three. forgot to post that. sorry. -
Great day to honor the memory of one of the Forum's most influential members--kids all returned from the Grandparents, bringing an equal number of strays home with them. 4 racks of baby backs. Dizzy Dust of course:
A somber crowd eagerly awaits dinner:
Those of you who have seen my rib posts know that I am a fairly exclusive dry rib fan. Today, in honor of the man, I sauced two of the 4 racks. Sweet Baby Ray's was the sauce of choice:
The dry ones:
All cut up:
Then, they got after it:
RIP Carwash Mike! -
Looks great , Chris.
Great shots of the hungry munchkins, too! -
Thanks Clark--my house is a lot noisier than it has been for about a week!

The Car Wash Mike attire. Now I'm ready to rock and roll with some top notch baby backs, only the best for my tribute to Mike.
Here are two racks at the finish using apple wood smoke and Sweet Baby Rays sauce. The aroma was outrageous. :woohoo:
Along the way I saluted Mike with ice cold mugs of beer.
I think these were my best ribs, tender and meaty and smoked just right... I owe it all to Car Wash Mike!

I learned of Mike's passing just a little while ago...I will definitely smoke a few racks in his honor next weekend. He and his family will be in my prayers.

Like many members of the forum I never met CWM, but followed his advice. One of my early cooks back in 2005 was the onion burger, which I printed out to add to my collection of favorite eggin' recipes. My adult kids still request it. In 2007 I was in the Ozarks area and driving back to the KC airport when I found my self looking at a road sign marking, you guessed it, Peculiar, Mo. My family wondered why on a rainy day in late June I suddendly pulled off the highway to tour this town. I explaned I needed to find a car wash car even in the rain, which was my excuse to just drive around the community to see if I could find a home with some BGE's a smokin' and go introduce myself to Mike. I fessed up what I was doing, but family was too worried about getting to the airport so I reluctantly gave up the search without asking for local assistance to find the famous egger. I regret I was not more persistent in my effort. Thank you Mike for all you've done for us.

I remember that! It's a goodie!
