A very interesting story indeed
The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

@RajunCajun - many thanks for the above link.  Tabasco holds quite a place in my personal life cycle.
Got into Tabasco in the late 60's-early 70's. (Old here!) Yep-used it on dang near everything.
Met the now SWMBO in1980 and have been married for coming on 44 years.  She cooked some sort of dinner one night that did not go according to plan.  My quote, "No worries, with enough Tabasco I can standardize the taste."
Not well received such that the new rule was "No Tabasco til after the first meal."
I have made the trip to the Avery Island factory and enjoyed it although I found the automaton tour quite short on availability for interaction with the employees. The post tour gift shop employees were not well-versed on the high points of back story that the video presented.  So, again much appreciated.

Edit: "Nothing needs to change." So true!

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

You are quite welcome.  I am a local and while I have never been to the factory, I have been to the store to purchase the scorpion and family reserve sauces because at that time those were only available for     purchase in the store.  It has always amazed me that the Tabasco supply for the world originates from that one factory.

    Take care

Thanks for that post.  It's interesting the trademark legal battles they've had, quite similar (although with different outcomes) to the Sriracha history.

You are quite welcome, glad you enjoyed it.  I would love to smoke a nutria should I ever get access to one.  :)

Thanks for sharing that, very enjoyable viewing.  Their habanero variety is in my top three of favorite hot sauces.

60 Minutes did a segment on Tabasco 10 or so years ago, I don't remember being nearly as comprehensive or interesting.  Did a search, it was 12 years ago and they now want money to view it.

Just a quick drive over there, and it sounds like the LA guvmint will even give you $6 for the tail, to cover lump costs!   =)
