Well it’s not going anywhere and in reality, just starting to take off. Agentic AI is the game changer they thought it could be.

I used ChatGPT a lot for suggestions for our USVI trip. It basically acts as a search engine aggregator. While we loosely took advice from it for daily and trip itinerary, and it’s optimism was encouraging, we could’ve had just as great a time slumming it old school.

The notification features are pretty good - I have it letting me know there are any developments in certain news stories we want to stay informed on, for example.

The image generation is good, but you really have to tell it specifics and watch out for it getting too “creative.”

Video creation was a headache. Fun. But tons of blatant errors a human would never make were frustrating.

    …

for anyone who dares use it to create any legitimate academic or real-work, you’re going to get what you deserve.

I test drove quite a few before ultimately deciding on Claude. It’s been a huge tool for work and at home.

Our phone system at work is VoIP and we’ve been using AI to coach our customer service reps. It will grade each interaction and give them suggestions plus send weekly reports to their manager.

Here is the wild part. We are also capturing each of our customer service reps voices and mannerism’s and then using AI agents that are mimicking the real folks. You literally can’t tell if you’re talking to the AI David or the real David. This feature has been life changing when we’re in storm situations and we have 16k members without power calling in to report or complain.

This is encouraging we are in the right direction, our first step ( baby) was going VOIP ) and the integration with our current system, now when we receive a call it automatically populates the customer ( if current ) the AI portion is outbound scheduling at this point ,we write the script and “ Athena “ follows  … I was holding off on doing this but after a recent “ time theft embezzlement “ employee forced my hand, so those that are against AI can thank that type of employee…

Nothing changes but the speed, AI can't think it, can only process at a quicker speed what data that was put into it.

First?   There is No Such Thing as artificial intelligence.    Want proof?     Ask it what it's favorite color is.
As for the chat driven?     They ARE good and if treated as a form of deep and quick internet searches, quite nice.
    But NOT intelligent.

Let me clarify.   What people may want to be frightened of is AGI........Artificial GENERAL  Intelligence.    We're not there yet.
What we DO have is 'expert'.   And if you have access to one, you are really in hog heaven.   Imagine the specialty, than conceive of the EXPERT help you'd like.    If you were a specialist Doctor?     Patient presents and you have access to basically the entire relational database for your specialty.

There are other steps.      A lot of RELATED specialties, for example, again, medicine, report to a single 'mediator' which can help parse thru the choices presented by the AI and than narrow to a sosllution.

Your future auto mechaic may use some for of 'expert' to help with diagnosis.    When a car throws a given error code?    It could be a dozen different things.   And all wrong turns are Expensive......
A good mediator with ALL the service data, may be able to make a more informed decision

I use my AI agent to comb through logs when doing a Root Cause Analysis (RCA). It saves me hours of man hours by simply plugging in log data, which can often be 30-50k lines of data. I give it a simple summarize this command and in 10 minutes I have what I’m looking for vs parsing and extracting data in a Linux shell.

I was on a car dealer lot on a Sunday morning around 9am.  My wife is looking at a Lexus and we found one on the lot, but without the window sticker.

I thought, lets see how good chatGPT can crawl and pull information..

I took a picture of the VIN and in less than 15 seconds had the window sticker of that vehicle on my phone..

Then I asked.."Can you show me the dealer invoice on the vehicle?"

It was able to provide the dealer invoice..

Yep.  These things are significant workflow accelerators in experienced hands.  It’s a new world, and there will be many downstream implications.

As much as I’m excited by what these tools can do, I have genuine concerns we’re nowhere near prepared for what’s to come.

I just used AI to confirm that yes the Program swmbo bought at the final four was actually $100. Saved me a phone call!
@hoosier_egger beautiful city you have there, great folks. We really enjoyed Indianapolis, late booking the hotel so we stayed in Carmel, though it was no problem driving past all those beautiful homes to get downtown.  We really enjoyed the canal area and of course the brickyard and museum. Parking and exiting was insanely easy, we went to the Post Malone concert, "are you okay? is everyone okay over there? can someone get them some help? can you guys wave your phone if they are okay?" groan, Post paused mid song about 10 times to ask this of different groups of folks.
Anyway Indy is a well kept midwest secret, we look forward to getting back, possibly for a race.

I might need the whisperer’s help with this one.

about a month ago i put up a want add on indeed for a welder. put the cost on a business debit card. the bank locked the card up for what they assumed was a fraud. (that was probably ai as well =)  )  the card was also set up for monthly payments on something different. tried the damn ai chat to get an invoice to send in a check and it said ok, can do. bunch of questions a half hour later, wanting the card number, date, name on the card etc with me telling it the card is now cancelled and it will take a week to get an updated card. eventually it said it could not get an invoice and that it couldnt set me up with a billing address.......

    the card is shut off

    we need the card number

the card is shut off because of a fraud attempt

whos name is on the card

and so on and so on =)

it could have been the whisperer or ai, what do i know.

in the end i found a person that gave me a billing address to send a check with no invoice. we will see how that works out shortly.  the indeed ai wrote out a very good job request add but im sure they wrote out the applicants response as well and thats not good either

today i get to try and pay indeed for what i owe them and then hit the bank up for a new card once thats cleared

@alaskanassasin Indy is a beautiful host city for events. We too love Victory field/Zoo/Whiteriver state park area. There’s a great amphitheater there next to the canal where you can just camp out outside of the venue in a green space and enjoy the concerts without the admission price.

    Glad you enjoyed the visit!
