A Canadian national park is more along the lines of a USA county park.

    What about the territories?
We collect full taxes from them and treat them like Puerto Ricans.  Duh.

U.S. Virgin Islands mega disappointment.  Completely misnamed.

We went to USVI about 10 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed, especially St. John.  The only downside was they drive on the wrong side of the road.

Induction friendly steamer for the new range. Definitely a want because the old steamers still work with mismatched induction compatible pots and woks.

For the price of a decent Harley Davidson I have purchased a share of the following this quarter!

    1. Social Programs (About 60% of Spending)

    • Social Security: Provides retirement benefits, disability income, and survivor benefits.

    • Medicare: Health insurance for people aged 65 and older, and certain younger individuals with disabilities.

    • Medicaid and CHIP: Healthcare programs for low-income individuals and families, including children.

    • Unemployment Benefits: Supports individuals who are temporarily out of work.

    2. Defense and Military Spending (About 13%)

    • National Defense: Funding for the Department of Defense, military operations, weapons, and troop salaries.

    • Veterans’ Benefits: Healthcare and support for military veterans.

    3. Interest on National Debt (About 8%)

    • Payments to cover interest on the money the U.S. government has borrowed.

    4. Infrastructure and Public Services

    • Transportation: Maintenance and development of highways, bridges, airports, and public transit.

    • Education: Federal funding for schools, student loans, and grants.

    • Scientific Research: Funding agencies like NASA, NIH, and NSF for advancements in health, technology, and space exploration.

    • Environmental Protection: Programs to protect air, water, and land resources, such as those under the EPA.

    5. Law Enforcement and Public Safety

    • Federal Agencies: Funding for the FBI, DEA, Border Patrol, and Homeland Security.

    • Criminal Justice System: Support for federal courts and prisons.

    6. International Affairs

    • Foreign Aid: Humanitarian assistance and economic aid to other countries.

    • Diplomacy: Funding for embassies, ambassadors, and international organizations like the United Nations.

    7. Miscellaneous Programs

    • Agriculture: Subsidies and support for farmers.

    • Energy: Investment in renewable energy and energy infrastructure.

    • Disaster Relief: Funds for FEMA and emergency response.

Breakdown Example (FY 2022 Federal Spending):

Here’s a rough allocation of federal spending based on recent budgets:

    • Social Security: ~22%

    • Medicare: ~15%

    • Medicaid/Other Health Programs: ~12%

    • Defense: ~13%

    • Income Security (e.g., unemployment benefits, housing assistance): ~11%

    • Interest on Debt: ~8%

    • Education, Science, Transportation, Environment, and others: ~19%

Your taxes enable the government to operate and provide essential services that benefit individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole.

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.
