Bump.
Decided not to do veggies this year. Sticking with shrubs and flowers. Raked up several large lawn bags of debris yesterday and placed in 14 bags of black mulch. Replanted a lime tree/bush that we already had, placed in 2 small lantanas, a butterfly bush, 3 yellow shrubs (I think they are called abelias) and replanted some gerber daisies we already had. Also on the other side of the large hedge is a pink azalea bush that’s currently blooming.Doused everything down in deer deterrent. Hoping to get the flowers to take off and not get eaten this year!

Just some peppers, roses, and a volunteer tomato that showed up. A Cubanelle is right by the mouse right now. No idea what I am going to do with the Ghost peppers. I have two recipes for sauce, one calls for 2 ghost peppers and the other for 4 habaneros. Maybe use one Ghost for 4 habaneros?

Second attempt at compost tea, first attempt last year was not productive at 48 hours. This was at 2.5 days, much better. Learned to go by bubbles visual, not by timezaphod said:looks alive to me

The only alcohol I brew is sushi rice wine. (@BeanHead I didn't forget you, need to get my scribbles organised).

Bump. Made that viral tiered 8 bucket contraption. Using an old 10x10 dog kennel to enclose the garden this year … but to keep the dog and other critters out! It’s a work in progress.

Looks nice @Dyal_SC I'm not familiar with this viral version but... few years ago I built a bunch of them with reservoir under a false bottom, and a self wicking sand bag that dips into the reservoir. The results were mixed, I got rid of them after two or three summers 😔
Looking forward to see how it turns out for you.canuckland -
Well I have Rosita eggplants, Red Marconi sweet peppers, Carrot hot peppers, and Aji Amarillo hot peppers ready to transplant in the next 2 weeks. Going to see if the niece or sisters want any of the spares. I was going to give some to dad but he is hooked to oxygen full time starting a couple of weeks after I started them.

Pomegranate tree is covered with blooms and buds. Fingers crossed.🤞

Gonna need a few more weeks. It's been a brutal spring, those humps are 24" planters

The different winters experienced by the western US vs the eastern US, this year, is amazing. I need to mow for the second time tomorrow, and I live in northern UT.poster said:

Made some tater towers. One with Yukon golds and the other with harvest blend. They are layered in like a lasagna. Hoping to see some vines growing out the sides in a few weeks.
