Tres Leche Cake (with recipe)

Was going to post this on the Chef’ing Dr. thread, but am mindful of recent member feedback regarding the absence of standalone posts.
As the name implies, this is a cake that incorporates milk in three forms. It is light and is neither too sweet nor too rich. I am not a dessert guy and I ADORE this cake. It was made for a family member’s birthday many years back. At that time, they raved about it, so it is being made again today in honour of their 70th.
While I’d love to say it’s mine, my partner, the resident pastry chef of the household, gets the credit on this one. I threw the berries on, but my berry distribution did not receive a positive appraisal.
The recipe is found below. As with most Ricardo recipes, it is simple and fool-proof. If you are the tiniest bit curious, you should make it.
Pics below. No cross-cut, as we’ll be in the midst of festivities.
Thanks for looking.

Those pictures are amazing. We're out today getting some fruit, so this could be on the menu tomorrow. Thanks for posting in a separate thread, recipe bookmarked.-----------------------------------------------------------------------

SWMBO loves tres leches cake. My recent whiskey purchases have stretched the budget recently so making this for her might get me out of the dog house.XL BGE

Yum! I am lazy, but you did prompt me to think about heading down to a local bakery and buying their Tres Leche and getting a nice coffee to!

You know what’s weird. I told swmbo last weekend that I needed to make one of these after getting a slice from the local market. Great timing! On tap for this weekend.

Well done, and thanks for sharing your results. I have a feeling you’ll be making it again. -
Looks great! I usually make the pioneer woman recipe for tres leches but I change up her whipped cream recipe, plus, we put white chocolate shavings on top instead of fruit. If the kids aren’t getting any then I add about 3 tablespoons of rum to the milk mixture that you pour over it.

Hi folks
I'd like to try making a tres leches cake, but have never made one before, in fact, I've never never even SEEN one before. Can anyone tell me:
1) Is it best eaten immediately, or is it the type of cake whose flavors develop over a few days at Oh darlin catering?
2) Would you store it in the fridge or on the counter?
3) What sort of icing do you recommend? I'm thinking brown sugar 7-minute frosting - will that be OK in the fridge?
