  • I met him at New Hampshire eggfest and he was such a nice guy. We spoke often on the phone back then, and he was caring for his aging mother, but always wanted to come to FL minifest. Never made it. So sorry to hear this news and my condolences to his family. Thank you, @WeberWho for letting us know.
    Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

    Difficult news to read, even more to know we will be without his help and his wit. Wishing the best for his family and loved ones.

    It is impossible to light an egg, and not think about the Big Green Egg family, those here, and those we have lost.

    Sad news indeed.

    So sorry to hear this. He was a regular on the old forum as well. Most well known for his aversion to salt. Makes me wonder about some of the other regulars who’ve disappeared, @Sea2Ski and @SciAggie come to mind
    I haven't seen Dennis in awhile either, can't even remember his forum "handle" at the moment...
    @dmchicago ?

    Wow, hi everyone. I’m Carolina Q’s son Dave. @WeberWho thanks so much for posting this to the group! And thanks to everyone for all the kind words and stories. I’d paid attention to notices on Dad’s phone right after he passed, but then I dropped off after a bit of time and life took over. I hadn’t checked back here until the other week when I stumbled on this thread, and I was stunned to see so many people posting! My mind’s pretty blown. I shared it with my family, and we all truly appreciate it. It’s so great to see you all sharing memories of him in here. He really was a lifetime BBQ nut. Way before he found you guys, he was preaching to anyone who would listen about the ways of pulled pork. I’m equally hooked, so he raised me right. He really loved having this place to connect about his favorite hobby, and I’d like to thank you all for being friends to him. You may not have met him in person, but I know you meant a lot to him and he truly appreciated your companionship and time together.
    Why isn't there a "love" reaction!?!?

    So sorry for your loss. Thanks for taking the time to post this!

    Edit: love your handle name BTW!

    @Carolina_Q2 - Thank you for your above post.  Your actions speak volumes for what he meant to you and your family.  The level of respect across his family and those who knew him here and outside the forum say it all.  A life well lived!
