Bachan’s Japanese BBQ Sauce

I’ve never used this before and picked up a bottle last week. I’m planning to do some chicken on the Blackstone tomorrow with it. How do y’all use it? Recipies or links appreciated.

I saw a bottle and picked it up a few months ago.  Like too many commercial bbq sauces its too sweet for me; if you like sweet sauces it would be great on chicken.

It's not bad, but it's really just a thick teriyaki, high sugar and salt, will burn.

    My experience as well.

I tossed it right after opening it, wasn’t going to ruin Q with that…. Props to their marketing dept for getting one over on me

I like their spicy version.  But I also have a lawn... =)

I used it a couple of times for chicken teriyaki on the Blackstone. As mentioned above, put it on at the end or it will burn.

Well you did the smart thing! I instead tried to salvage it by cutting it with Blue’s Tn Red…but unfortunately even that combination never worked for me! I should have quit when I was ahead!

It's fine, the flavor is good.  It's a teriyaki glaze much like Yoshidas if you've ever bought that.

I ended up throwing mine away. Large bottle that my kids were using to drown the taste of everything. I like it, but a light drizzle of it here and there.

It's a pretty decent sauce. Easy to tweak more to your liking. Works well as a glaze, or in stir-fry.

MIL and caliprince like it as a dipping sauce, so we usually have some at home. Available at Costco here, so it beats most of the store sauces for price, and flavor. I like that it doesn't have the thickeners that store sauces usually have. Not a fan of the texture/viscosity of most store sauces.

I like it a lot.  Sauce chickens with it when I’m being lazy.  I use it like I would a teriyaki sauce.

  • Used it tonight to make chicken teriyaki sandwiches. Sautéed an onion and yellow pepper, and combined with some diced chicken breast. Added the bbq sauce at the end and let it thicken up on the chicken, onions and peppers. Put that on a toasted hoagie roll with provolone cheese and Japanese mayo. That made a great sandwich.

  • Sounds like some of you are saying it’s really just a teriyaki sauce…
