At the request of many who want to cleanse 2023 from their memory here we go!
This
should be another one for the history books in the annals of the Zoom
gatherings.
Should our friends from across the pond be interested the doors can be opened at 5 PM (EST) In keeping with the international (applies to those in the GWN as well) flavour (nod). Just let us know-
You will
enjoy yourself however long you visit. Social distancing is a given.
Beverage(s) of your choice. Level of participation your preference.
Just like enjoying your local watering hole and engaging or not with
other patrons. Everyone who has participated at whatever level has left
with "value add."
Reminder: Politics and religion make up the third rail and are off-limits.
Upfront thanks to @JohnInCarolina (aka The Chairman) for enabling this to happen for the entire time.
Zoom site linked here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89600782373
Password is unchanged since inception (believe it or not, 44 months ago) and will be gladly provided, just ask.
This will be your greatest opportunity to wave farewell to 2023.
Lining up headliners now-
Not to be missed!!!
Cheers- Cap

P.S. December 29th is well clear of any NYE events so put it on your calendar.
P.P.S. Happy Friday and there will be frequent reminders. But no last minute hand-wringing. Just make it happen.

Frank has asked what we can give away at this to drum up participation. Options so far:
1) a bottle of bourbon
2) a gasket signed by @RRP
3) a date with StumpBaby’s sister Beulah

I job at BGE HQ?

And for the newer forum members:The backstory for those who are new to the forum and wonder what this thread is about.
When the covid lock-down/shutdown commenced in March/April 2020 @JohnInCarolina obtained a personal Zoom account that he offered for use to engage forum members otherwise in the self isolation mode. The Zoom sessions happened EVERY Friday evening until May 2021.
Anyone and everyone was welcome. The objective was to create an atmosphere where free-flowing conversation about a wide range of topics was encouraged. This was routinely achieved. BBQ and BGE were low on the list of things discussed. Any hobby or interest was fair game and everyone definitely learned a lot.
To keep things flowing and not get heated, religion and politics make up the third rail and are off-limits.However, if there will be significantly increased participation with politics and religion in the mix, then we can roll with those during the later stage of the evening or early morning.

Maybe we can discuss the new forum layout and the lack of notifications. I need to select my profile to see if I have msgs or notifications. The email tied to this account is barely checked so I don't see notifications there.

@Ozzie_Isaac Check your settings on your profile. I get the same alerts for Notifications and messages as before.

I would suggest mandatory donations and the smallest donation gets Beulah at their door step. You could buy many bottles of bourbon.LBGE, 36" Blackstone, Anova ProCharleston, SC

I think we need some new EASY refresh button. It took me a while to figure out to get back here! I’d imagine newbies would have no clue! I wonder if our new BGE President even has a clue how this Vanilla change has affected this forum which already is on life support!
