Did a big gathering for my wife’s 40th birthday. Rolled two pork butts overnight, then the pork went into the electric roaster to hold and jalepenos and mushrooms went on for appetizers (this is when the crowd started showing up and I started failing at continuing to take pictures), then chicken thighs and sausages went on, then hot dogs at the end for kiddos. Egg ran like a champ chugging through as I just kept swapping one food after the next onto it in shifts. It was a bit of a calculation game trying to plan back all of the timings, but in the end it all worked out and was a success. Planned ahead and had to go containers ready to send people away with the leftovers. I tried to limit my experimentation given the complexity of the cook, but I can never resist trying at least one thing new. This time it was using chic fil a sauce as the binder for the pork

That is impressive across the board. Congrats.Tangentially related:At 40 yo you can easily convince yourself that you have more than half your life in front of you. Last time for that thought (on the decade number) as the next big one is the reality check. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Great cook - and I hear you about the relative lack of pics as the time wound down toward the finish line. Been there. Thanks for posting and for the pics that you did take. Looks like it was a great event.

Fantastic! Happy Birthday!"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Looks great how did you find the Chick binder to be?
-
What kind of question is that? A chick binder makes all the fuzzy little chicks swarm in tight circles. It's so the net people can make the smallest most economical chick nets. Without the binders, chick nets would be huge, hard to weild, and economically prohibitive.

That looks terrific! I'm sure it was enjoyed by all.Stillwater, MN
