There are many forum members who likely are not into horse racing but here is Secretariat running like never seen before or since.

That museum opened a special exhibit section about Secretariat this past April. You can watch all three triple crown races. BTW- the move he put on in the Preakness was a strong precursor to the above performance.

Look closely at the pics @lkapigian posted above. You will see Secretariat gracing the covers of Time, Sports Illustrated and Newsweek. The charged atmosphere this country was experiencing at that time was very divisive across many issues.Big Red was a source of commonality that all could get behind.
