Hi everyone!
After a somewhat longer hiatus than planned I will soon be back in the fold of Big Green Eggdom. My M and XL BGE's were destroyed Aug 10, 2020 when an inland hurricane (cat 5 derecho with 140 mph winds) blew into town and flipped the tables holding the Eggs. The ceramic did not fare well on either Egg. A couple of years of repairs to the house, roof, windows and garage doors etc. precluded making the big step back into an Egg. Also rereplacement of my prosthetic knee joints after I contracted a staph infection and they had to be taken out and replaced along with a long IV antibiotic regimen.
I did not do without though, having picked up a Primo oval from a closeout at a local pool store. I also dipped a toe into the pellet pooper world with a Memphis Grill. The PP is convenient I must say as far as overnight cooks and temp stability but not the same flavor profile as an Egg. The Primo works okay and is more convenient for two zone cooks but just doesn't feel the same, not sure how else I can put it. Anyway, yesterday I went to the local BBQ enabler store and purchased an XL, modular nest and modular cabinet to grace my deck. Delivery will be in about a week as I have a couple of previous commitments. Really looking forward to getting back in the group again.

I’m glad you are healed and the house is back in order. And we are glad you strayed to the dark side for a bit. If not at least to answer those lingering questions of “it can’t be that much different, can it?” Enjoy
