Mother’s Day cooks?

What’s everyone got planned?  I’ll be making some kind of giant raspberry pancake type thing in the morning (wife’s request) followed by that pork Agrodolce dish that Nola posted a while ago.  I’ll just be smoking the pork on the BGE to add some smoke, then serve it over ricotta mashed potatoes.

When you are going this fancy, I recommend using a ricer for your potatoes.

My wife has been on weight watchers since last October, nothing fancy going on here.  However, our daughter is making a chocolate/strawberry cake for her, per request.

No sir, not tomorrow.   While the wife loves my food she loves restaurants even more (guess it’s about being waited on vs having to do small tasks to assist with meals).

    Now come Father’s Day…total 180

I’ve been doing them sous vide of late.  Stupid easy.

Chicken breast sandwiches tonight with Mac n cheese and garlic green beans. Filets, salad and potatoes tomorrow. Also letting her sleep in — gotta get the kids outta the house for that. And flowers, cards, chocolate, girly stuff, etc.

caliprince is supposedly on the hook for cooking breakfast for Mama tomorrow.

He says he wants French toast. I tried explaining that maybe Mama should get to pick what she wants. *crickets*

Make mashed potatoes as usual, mix in a cup of ricotta cheese at the very end.

I’m not kidding.  That’s the recipe.  First time making it for me, but I figure what can possibly go wrong with that?

Planning to start the day with the traditional breakfast in bed with pancakes, and sausage. Will end the day with lobster tails and stuffed portobello mushrooms on the egg.

I shipped my SWMBO off to her mother's in San Francisco last Thursday.  I alerted my two adult sons around 10 days ago that they need to "do something."  I did not and will not provide any additional material.
Me-bourbon, beer and a steak heavy rolling with independent operations.  And it is all good and could beat Father's Day by the time I'm finished.
    Enjoy the day!
Should any of those steaks be subjugated to the sweet, licking flames of your Santa Maria, please be sure to grace us with the visuals.

I got a request for Tri Tip and beans for dinner. That's a favorite of mine too.

For lunch, I'm making a potato leek soup.

    For breakfast, pancakes.

    Should be pretty darn good.

I made the pork agrodolce recipe yesterday for my wife’s birthday. Got really good reviews and will be on the repeat list.

I think it’s be that could be even better reheated the next day.

I feel bad for you.  Mother’s Day and Valentines Day are the 2 days I absolutely do not want to go anywhere near a restaurant.
Nah, it’s easy we go to the club, have a reservation, no waits, no over crowding.   Very easy and manageable with a great spread.

This was the Dutch baby fresh out of the oven.

It shrunk quite a bit (like a frightened turtle) after the cool cream went on top.
    This sounds kinda naughty...
