Interesting.  I just thought I was increasingly heat tolerant.  Went to school there for some senior year classes.

Jalapeno peppers are now woke - they don't want to offend anyone with their spiciness.
I love the idea of woke peppers originating at A&M.
    Love you bro!

Well we know they couldn't originate in Florida, because that is where WOKE GOES TO DIE!

A observation from my area of the country.  There are two major food service distributors here, Sysco and US Foods.  US Foods customers typically have the unadulterated jalapenos, Sysco is a crap shoot.

Options to get the good stuff include farmers markets and growing your own.

I enjoy Rick Bayless' mexican food videos, and he prefers serranos to jalapeños because 1 in 15 will be unusually hot; serranos are hotter but consistently so, just use less.

@MaskedMarvel - that is taking matters into your own hands and dialing up the real heat.  Enjoy harvest and consumption season.

My response has been to go full throttle driveway garden:

red, yellow, peach, and chocolate Carolina reapers
    red scorpions
    cayennes
    red, yellow, and orange habaneros
    ghosts
    and one jalapeno

Some tomatoes, potatoes, salad stuff, herbs, radishes, and specialty bell peppers in there, as well…

That is awesome, however, I think someone in your HOA is asleep at the wheel.

@Botch Rick Bayless is one of my favorites. Scott Bayless not so much. I couldn't believe I didn't find out till late in life that their brothers. One of the best things I've learned from Rick was rinsing chopped white onions. If you're going to eat them raw to take some of the harshness out. Works really well.

@MaskedMarvel, I had never seen raised beds on wheels. They appear to be a purchased item, probably with drain holes. Not gonna lie, that is a very slick idea for convenience. Thanks
