And on this day (+/-) some 3 years ago during Covid the forum became alive and personal!

As we have many new members, a Public Service and Information Announcement-
You read that right. The Forum took on a whole new role and became a great salvation during the Covid lockdown. The Chairman ( give the search a look for the rightful owner) offered a personal Zoom account for interested forum members to engage with on Friday evenings. Thus began an every Friday Zoom that ran thru early May 2021. Most start times were 8-9 PM (EDT) but on around a quarterly basis the doors would open at 5 PM (EDT) to enable those across the pond to enjoy the camaraderie. Door closing times could well roll into 1-2 AM EDT on Saturday. Topics covered quite a broad spectrum (decorum precludes posting some) and were much more interesting than straight up BGE or Q related. Learned something new every week!
There is no question that the value of these gatherings played a large role in positive life-styles of those who engaged.
As the public norms moved beyond the total lockdown environment (vaccines and just F' it approach influence) the weekly sessions closed the doors in May 2021 (yes, over a year). The Zoom session happens on a now random (with heads up) basis, the last being Dec 30, 2022.
The next session TBD but I assure you, you will get a sufficient forum alert thread and should place participation (or just lurking) quite high on your priority list.
Happy Friday-

farcebook's "Your post(s) from 3 years ago" have been a bit, whoa, for me.
I remember some oddly specific things:
- yelling at people in the grocery store: "Do you HAVE to pick up every damn apple/tomato/bunch of grapes/whatever with your hands during a PANDEMIC?!?!?" (I did this often)
- realizing how bad my hearing was, and suddenly being deprived of reading lips due to masks...
- traveling cross-country for Mom's funeral, and waiting forever in drive-in lines at McDonalds just to keep going
- taking my daily walks thru the neighborhood, playing with the neighbor's dogs but walking around the neighbors themselves
- grabbing commercial door handles from the bottom (I'm 6'5"). This habit has continued.
- watching our medical communities (in which I had many, many friends, family, and former partners) break down under the strain, while my own political party did everything possible to "dismiss" the pandemic.
Again. whoa.___________"When small men begin to cast big shadows, it means that the sun is about to set."
