Anyone here have a b!tch!n home gym..
I’m a member of crunch now but not a fan. I miss the setup I had when I was in high school and at Auburn.

Abandoned warehouse. Fully stocked .. no AC or heat… you either worked out to get warm or sweated your gonads off being productive. 24 hour access .. door was padlocked with a chain… Invite only, all a bunch of power lifters or body builders that were no nonsense. Get in get your work out done. Kind of what I want to go back to.
Hoping folks would post pictures of their setups for ideas on layout with minimal space ..
Planning on getting a Rogue Bench press / squat rack set up. Extra bar for deadlifts . Dumbells ranging from 15-75 lbs
couple of sets of kettle bells
wishing big but I hope to have a pole barn set up with an area just for this in the next year

Prior to COVID, I had steadily been going to the gym five days a week for a couple of decades. To supplement in-gym visits and give me flexibility, I also set up a “home gym” that was very cheap, versatile and didn’t require much floor space. Depending on your aims, you can accomplish a ton with nothing but an adjustable bench, adjustable dumbbells and a piece of cardio equipment (an Assault Air Bike, in my case). I eventually threw in a tower to add some more versatility for chest and back. It all fits within a corner of my home office. I could only really see needing to expand my setup if I wanted to work closer to my limits with limited risk of injury. So I tend to go higher reps under less load at home, which takes a bit more time, but really reduces the chance of hurting myself - especially important when working out alone, with no one to help in the event of medical emergency. What kind of workouts are you wanting to do now? You mention powerlifting, and if that’s your aim, then I can see how a very sparse setup would not suit your purposes (as you would want to incorporate more safety features, like flooring and heavier duty equipment). As you know, a big risk of any home exercise equipment purchase is the potential for it to go unused, so you can always start by getting the least amount of equipment you need to accomplish your goals and expand once you’ve gotten experience with it and are able to identify what if any gaps exist. More often than not, it is not the range and quality of equipment that determines success in the gym, but motivation.

@GrateEggspectations
like you I worry about heavy heavy lifting at home without a spotter. But counter productive at Crunch as I don’t have a spotter anyway and the truly “safe” safety equipment is not what I have in mind.
one of the guys i was fortunate enough to train with in my younger days was sponsored and had a real nice set up. He was lifting so much with squats it’d take 5-6 people to get the bar off him…so instead he had 18 wheeler load bearing straps and chains to catch the weight if he couldn’t.. he was trying to set the world record at the time 1,100 lbs or so.
im not that ambitious nor care to wreck my joints to that level but would like to get back to benching 300 lbs and maybe squatting 300 (always been weak there) even when i was comeptitive in cross country..so I’m leaning heavily towards one of the Rogue Towers and a quality bench and plates.
Goal now is chasing the above weight of my younger years, burn some of this damn fat and become more competitive with Jiu jitsu ( explosive power lift type movements) with speed and flexibility while I also build up endurance for this sheep hunt I have a wild hair up my butt to do -
Sounds like you trained with some real athletes. If you haven’t tried, it’s pretty easy and low effort to control weight with fasting. Doesn’t even seem to have much if any impact in training. I have a friend who is a longtime gym partner and he is permanently on one meal a day. He is in incredible shape and has kept it up. Pretty easy to sustain five days a week, with cheating on Saturdays and Sundays.

I know you said home gym but that never worked for me. I needed accountability. If that’s what you’re after check out F3nation.com. I’m sure there’s a location near you. Free, peer led, boot camp style workouts. Mostly body weight exercises with some extras thrown in. Also have bike groups and run groups. I go 4-5 days a week to locations around town. Met lots of good people that really keep me on track working out.

Wish I had pics. We wrapped the first three feet up with shiny aluminum diamond plate. It was under the house and opened on two sides to the outside. You walked out to a stone pool, one of those big stone bread ovens with slate roof and a giant stone fire pit with some built in seating. Being unusable in the winter must have been in the plansfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Sold my stuff years ago, got full gym access 3-4 miles away for $10 a month. Not worth the cost and space but realize not everyone has easy access.Plus the eye candy doesn’t hurt either.Jacksonville FL

We have a simple Gold’s Gym branded bench that has a leg curl/extension setup at the end. The bench racks can be turned around to make a squat rack. Barbell and enough weight to get to 250, all bought off Facebook Marketplace. We have various kettle bells (my preference) and dumbbells. Wife also have a treadmill and Peleton.I try my best to get three good kettle bell days in a week and three day of Jiu Jitsu (only been going a month-ish).Most of the time, less is more often times. Depends on what your goals are. Follow Joko Willink or Dave Goggins. You can get an awesome workout with nothing.Las Vegas, NV

The rack, plates, and barbell are Rogue the bench is from REP. Rogue makes some of the best stuff and it's all made in America. Just pricey. I was surprised how much benches are in general. I also have the Rogue jammer pull up bar and a Concept 2 row machine.
I want more plates and a Rogue Echo bike. Then I'll have everything I could ever need.
Those mats are a great deal too. Horse mats from Tractor Supply. Inexpensive and heavy duty.Boom -

You guys are doing it all wrong. All you have to do is eat liver.

Liver king also eats raw nuts. Not the kind that derive from shells but the other kind. At least @SGH cooks them first.

I was working out with a personal trainer pre-pandemic focusing on kettlebells. During early pandemic we moved to an online personal session using a camera setup.I slowly acquired a range of kettlebells from 20kg up to 32kg. I put a large foam mat on the hardwood floor and we still do sessions, twice a week. Swings, getups, snatches are the main exercises. Works for me.The room doubles as my office.Plymouth, MN
