Thickness of 3mil-5mil are readily available. Seems like the thicker the bag the less stretch you get around your food without mushing it.

Unlike the bedroom, thickness in chamber vacuum bags really doesn’t matter so much ( contrast that with how it does matter for food saver styles vacuuming ).
it has to do with the quick vacuum release in the chamber. You are much less likely to get holes in the bag with a chamber even though you are pumping down much lower. (Ok, so that part is like the bedroom)______________________________________________I love lamp.. -
Bones are the worst at putting holes in the bag (just like…. Nevermind).______________________________________________I love lamp..

More seriously...
I started with an assortment of 4 mil bags, found them too stiff and have since moved to 3 mil. 4 mil and 5 mil are pricier of course and primarily for commercial applications.
Few lessons learned:
1) Use a mug/jug/canister... to hold the bag for filling liquid. Watch it like a hawk, if the cool contents start bubbling and move towards the opening before the pump stops, press manual stop immediately.
2) Fold the bag opening out 1.5-2" when filling, to avoid getting the seal zone wet.
3) Try not to stretch the bag opening so they seat flat for the seal. Occasionally I get a little wrinkle or wave that prevents a perfect seal, to fix that I immediately seal it again with FS before the air reenters.
4) These are great for transferring items into the bag, the big guy can shovel in a whole chicken!

webstaurantstore.com sells Lubriplate oil for the Vacmaster, the oil is L0944-054 and ISO 32
Nearest I can tell ISO 32 is equivalent to 15W and ISO 46 is about 20W
https://cdn6.bigcommerce.com/s-eqgv9kc7pj/product_images/uploaded_images/viscositychartlarge.png
The question is - would ISO 46/20W be safe to use? or should I use the lighter weight ISO 32/15W
To further add to the confusion- the Lubriplate website shows the L0944-054 oil is SAE 10

GregW said:I called Vacmaster this morning. They confirmed the model has not been discontinued. They said my order had already been sent to the shipping company and normally takes four days to deliver. The only issue is it is coming by a freight company and will be delivered by appointment. This is a little less convenient than Amazon, but the savings will be worth it.
Also, did they ship before or after knowing the error, if latter then it was noble of them because they didn't have to fulfill your order at the goofy price according to this disclaimer...Site Transactions

@Canugghead they told me that my order had already been processed and the warehouse was shipping the sealer. I never questioned the lady about the price, I only asked if the 230 was being discontinued, she assured me that it was still a current model. The lady never mentioned anything about the pricing, or there might be an error.
Also another plus- they don't charge any sales tax. -

I purchased a table for around $470 from www.webstaurantstore.com
The box was in really bad shape when it was delivered by FedEx. The table had some damage.
When I reported the damage, webstaurantstore.com said they would give me a refund and I could do whatever I wanted with the damaged table.
I would have much preferred to have received the table undamaged and paid full price for it.
I don't blame FedEx for the damage, the table was very heavy and was not packed well enough to be shipped. I would have gladly have paid extra to have the table shipped by freight on a pallet, but that is not a shipping option.
Yesterday I went to a local restaurant supply to see if I could buy replacement parts for the table- the lady horse laughed me out of the store. She said you bought one of those table only sold on the web didn't you? She said that table is online only and it is not compatible with parts from any other table brand. I decided I would just buy a whole new table locally, but they did not have a 24x36 in stock, and even if they did, it would not have a middle shelf that I wanted.
So, I'm sort of in a tough spot with the table, I may very well just have to live with the damaged table- not what I really wanted to do. -
Was the damage serious enough to effect the structural integrity of the table in its intended use?
