Words, Phrases Definitions....

One of my New Year's resolutions....put a list together of kamado words and phrases with a short definition. Let me know how I did or any I missed.....it was harder than I thought.....

Thinking of words that get explained here.  Not all of these are probably good candidates for your list, but may spark another idea.

Dome thermometer  / Dome temperature - you talk about the device, but what about the temperature?  People are always confusing the dome reading to the grid reading, etc.

Add Internal Temperature to your definition of "quick read thermometer", or define internal temperature (of the food, not the grill).

Add (charcoal) to lump grate as in lump (charcoal) grate.  Many call it a charcoal grate.

Nest, Handler, stand other places for your kamado to live.

Bands, hinge.

Great list!

I hear ya on grid vs grate. I can say from my many years of doing this, almost to a tee, folks not deep in outdoor cooking refer to the cooking grid as a grate. I always gotta ask, using it for food or charcoal.

The capitalized words in the definitions alert you that the word is defined in the list. I mention it at the start.

I can see causal interpretation of food porn to deny the Money Shot.  The Money Shot is the great reveal of how the cook finished.  But I'm just a sailor...
