A Weekend of Shenanigans

A couple of college buddies are coming into town to hang for the weekend. Lots of food and booze to consume. Just threw the pork belly on for apps tonight.

Tonight will be a SRF Gold tomahawk with asparagus and mushrooms. Last night I applied a generous amount of kosher salt and wrapped in saran wrap and foil and left in the fridge until this evening. Will be doing a reverse sear on this big guy. More food and photos hopefully to come.

  • Sounds like you have a very enviable weekend ahead. That’s going to be delicious. Don’t forget to stock the Aspirin, Gaviscon and for those brave enough, Caesars for the morning.

The water bottles and Bodyarmour Lytes are in the cooler awaiting.  Also have a bag of Liquid IVs.

Better to be lucky than good right there. Oh, and young as well!  I'm sure the bourbon locker will take quite a hit but why buy it if not to consume.

I've been trying to talk my wife into starting one of these business.  Since she is a CRNA she can also offer other types of services.  She hasn't bought into the idea YET.

They make good money here. $399 for an IV, up to $799 for IV's with special "restorative" stuff added.

I got duped into the Caesar bit on my first trip to Calgary decades ago—had no clue what they were (but thought a salad) boy was I wrong.   Hello Clamato

Several cities have busses that park near bar districts and some have brick and mortar IV shops. The busses seem to be more hangover helper and the brick and mortar remind me of the oxygen bar fad.  Different customers.
    Love you bro!

Wait, wat??  There's a market between $400 and $800 IV for just a stupid Hangover cure?!?!  What am I missing here?

That is good as all the non-liquid IV’s tend to kill people 😂

An acquaintance of mine went on Shark Tank with this.    A lot of guys I know swear by it but has too much carbs for my liking.  Supposed to get fixed up quick.

@saluki2007 - great opening salvo with that steak.  You put the bar up there for the rest of the weekend.  Enjoy.

    Great foodstuffs here for sure!

Quick question, were you able to make it to work Monday morning?    Sounds like a banner weekend.

Excellent Cook & Go Bucks !!  My sister in-law is a CRNA here in Columbus at Children's - she was considering the hydrate me IV thing as a side hustle as well.  We have done it, kinda cool.
