How the mighty have fallen...

I'm on the last bag of the new run of Ozark Oak I picked up a couple of years ago - filled up the truck with it at Cost Plus.  Just about every bag had rocks or trash.  I hadn't seen it anywhere lately, and started ordering Rockwood at Ace.  Noticed this tonight - it's available by order at Home Depot now - for 2.50 a pound.1

I still have eight ten-pound bags of the original product, which I use at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The saga of Ozark Oak's has been chronicled somewhere on the forum, and it's comically tragic. I think they were taken over by Royal Oak, but not sure if RO still owns the brand.

yuppers...Now my 12 bags of the REAL Ozark Oak bought YEARS ago - and might STILL be going UP in value!!!! har har har as a part of MY IRA asset!

Unfortunately, the message board about Ozark Oak from the little town in Arkansas has been deleted.  The gems on there about all the whoring, fighting, and prison were amazing.

THANK YOU for finding those old threads! I thought they were goners! I really enjoyed reading those posts made by eggers who have passed away or never come here anymore!
