Supercharged Rub

I usually make my own rub, not terribly complicated now is it? Nothing against store bought concoctions - there is no chipotle here where I live in any form so I do use it from time to time. Most rubs, either kind, are pretty expected no real surprises. I always add a good tad of good imported Indian made curry powder. Just enough not to make the dish Indian but for you to say 'What the hell was that'! also instantly improving store bought varieties as well.

You do know don't you that if you buy the chipotle you can store it in the refrigerator for a long time - I do that with cayenne pepper and I have and still have never sensed any degradation in heat!

where do you live where there is not chipotle of any kind? I can't think of a region that is devoid of Mexican markets these days but if you really don't have anything in your area, there is always Amazon:

Hard to believe perhaps but not all of us here live in the U.S. of A. Shipping charges from Amazon are 3x the price of the chili powder so no thank you.
