Picanha is so good...

Morning All:

Not much better than steak for a 4th of July meal...a nice piece of picanha with just a little Dizzy Pig Raising the Steaks & a lot of Kosher salt then on the swords ready for the Egg...

Going direct with dome temp 450+...almost ready to come off after maybe 20 minutes...

Add a baked potato & salad so my plate is ready to dive into...

We usually use some bacon grease on the outside of the potatoes before cooking them, but tonight used a little of the beef fat to rub the potatoes & it was also very good!

Have a GREAT day!

All this time I thought picanha were fish that would eat you if you went swimming in the amazon in front of the pbs cameras.

BTW. There's a giant cashew in your salad that looks like the bottom of a scrotum, not that I've seen the bottom of many scrotums, especially ones that people put on their salads. Maybe You're nuts about salad, or you were tossing the salad and your nuts slipped in there, or maybe you have a little jar of salad scrotums in your pantry and one .. just one .. absolutely makes the salad for you.

TMNGE ( that mans nuts, grab em)

I had never heard of this cut until I saw some on clearance at a local grocery about a month ago.  I bought them and the family only had great things to say about it. Yours looks great.
  • I love picahnas.  I get mine from Wild Fork.
Our Costco has just started carrying them as well.

    Nice cook Jay!
Since I moved to Lansing KS, there is a local meat source that has this cut.

Looks great. I think I remember you from the old original forum. I can’t remember the name of the guy who ran it.

They had Picanha at the local store today but with current temps exceeding 105 I decided to not be near a smoking hot grill today.

    Great cook, thanks for sharing!
