Saw this on FB group and thought I would give it a try. There is one in the 4 fundamentals of smoking book, but that uses a cedar plank, which I do not have.
So any of you all ever make one on the egg? I combined some of what others posted and am going to make it this afternoon for dinner.
Pics to come unless you want to see raw meat combined in a bowl![ ](https://eggheadforum.com/plugins/emojiextender/emoji/yahoo/smiley.gif)

2lbs ground beef
1lb ground pork
One large onion
One bell pepper
A few cloves garlic
2 eggs
1 cup panko
Salt
Pepper
Paprika
1/4 to 1/2 cup of bbq sauce and brown sugar
sauté the onions and bell peppers before mixing it with your meat. Almost want them caramelized
Smoked @275 for about 3 hours and basted with BBQ sauce every 30 mins
I cleaned out the bowl in the egg too to make sure that it was all set to go

Sounds good, pro meatloaf tip to smoke, form in pan and chill overnight to set up, you can then remove from pan and set on grate, smoke to get a nice bark all the way aroundVisalia, Ca @lkapigian

That very recipe was one posted way back in 2004 by an egger who made it at a Texas Eggfest. He called it "Not Your Mother's Meatloaf". I make it several times a year and I use a wire "meatloaf basket" so it gets 360º smoke. One additional thing I add are 3 or 4 strips of raw bacon laying on top which adds some bacon fat flavor to the loaf.

Think it will hold together?
@RRP
I plan on adding bacon to the top, thanks! -

Lining the pan with plastic wrap is a saver in both flipping that loaf onto a rack and cleanup after you do. Not necessary, but worth the extra step next time. I always give it a good dusting of BBQ rub once it’s set up, too. It’s a fun cook. Enjoy the raves!Tim

1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup Heinz 57
1/4 cup A1
1 tsp worchestershire

We always glaze with a simple mix of ketchup, tomato paste and sriracha sauce. It's the best part of the meatloaf.
