"The Last Homebrewer" sounds like a movie, most likely set in Canada.

I know plenty of people who make their own beer around these parts.  I always really appreciate what they give me but have never gotten into it myself.  I've always thought there's just way too much equipment you have to buy (and yes I appreciate I own several smokers and all the accessories at this point).

@nolabrew is a homebrewer who happens to not be @nolaegghead.  I suspect @nolaegghead has dabbled in the finer art of homebrewing though.

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

I literally have 14 gallons of mead in primary, in my basement. Been making mead since I started keeping bees.

I have been brewing for probably 12 years, nothing crazy like maybe a half dozen 14g brews a year.  I am sliding in deeper though, planning a basement brewery, all electric.  I have most of the supplies though I am on the hunt for a 24x36 stainless sink.  I enjoy brewing mostly because I can make any kind of beer I want and it is cool to drink and share a beer you made from scratch.
The biggest drawback for me has been dragging everything out, setting it all up and then putting it away, I think with a dedicated brewery I will get to make beer more often and with less labor.
If my plans all come together I will grow and malt my own barley and eventually grow some hops again.

@nolaegghead was a brewer, he said he still has some corny kegs.  I think at some point Carey and I are going to have to have a swap meet, maybe in Tennessee or somewhere halfway.

I gave my entire brewing operation except for maybe 8-10 corny kegs and a beer refrigerator to @nolabrew

Brian makes some incredible brews, that talent runs in the family.

Way back in the mid 70's my bank had a massive remodeling of the publicly seen areas. We also had a new hot shot marketing guru who orchestrated a cheese and mead evening open house for 2 nights. After day 1 most of us had had enough mead...by day 2 we all stuck with 7-Up.  B)

Since you spent your career in banking Ron ...

Last month I was listening to Drake's new Album. Theres a track named  .. Way Too Sexy .. that has these lyrics ...

"I get cash wherever I fly, got bitches sexin' on me"

That's when I realized I've been banking all wrong.

Actually banking was FUN in the 70's! We were a bunch of young bucks and even our president was young as well. Fond memories for sure!

My mom had a clanking machine in the late 70's. She said it'd take inches off her waist. I didn't quite get it, it was basically a machine with a double shafted electric motor, with offset cams running off of either side, and a fat leather belt that went around her waist. It shook the majeebers out of her bum. I remember her showing me how it worked and my fist thought was .... that I hoped it didn't shake her bird's nest loose .. because that probably didn't weight as much as she was hoping to lose and what a disappointed that would be for all of us.

It wasn't in a bank, but still ....
