I have been using this as a dipping oil and in salad dressings.

    La Tourangelle, Organic Extra Virgin

So far I've used rosemary, tyme , garlic/blackpepper and cayenne spice for infusions.  I want to try blackberry's if I can find any.  I found through trail and error that cold pressed seems to take the infusion better for some reason.

For everything else it's Kirkland .

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I don't have a refined enough palate to tell a difference so I just get Kroger brand.

I used to think buying EVOO in HUGE full gallon sizes was smart from an economical standpoint…but then they would go rancid and I’d pitch it since I really didn’t get in the regular habit of using it. Then I backed off using veg oil and canola oil, and then started to rely on EVOO. So I would just buy Bertolli brand. Now I ONLY cook with EVOO.

You might say I am NOT an EVOO snob, and honestly don’t quite understand otherwise…so Bertolli works for me!

The cheapest I can find.  Which, right now, is the Aldi brand.

    California Olive Ranch.
For high-heat stir frying I use peanut.

  • Another vote for the Costco one. I can’t say I’ve ever A/B’d olive oils for comparison at home, but I have no complaints about this one. When in Tuscany several years back, we went to a farm and had some great stuff. We did A/B there and you could taste a difference, even between grades of stuff produced with the same olives. We brought back oil for family.

OK - you piqued my interest - how large is the smallest bottle from COSTCO?

There are some really good small producers around here, and enough stores that have comparative tastings (and they usually have wine, too!) so we generally buy what is fresh and tastes good. Our favorites are Koroneiki and Arbequina, but we also but small bottles of flavored oils. Garlic for sure, Meyer lemon, and sometimes other specials.
XL BGE in San Jose, CA. Also a Pit Barrel Cooker, a Cal Flame P4 gasser, and lots of toys including the first ever Flame Boss 300 in the wild. And a new Flame Boss 500.

I believe the ones I get are 2 liter. They may offer smaller bottles in a multi-pack but I’ve never paid that much attention. We go through it pretty fast.

Get the same evoo from a local small shop. Love both Koroneiki and Arbequina. Mix either with 18 Year Traditional-style dark basalmic vinegar or a Fig dark basalmic vinegar for salads. All are shipped from Veronica Foods of Oakland CA.

I've read a lot of reviews and every one that has included Kirkland has been positive about it. That has been my staple for a couple of years now and I'm happy with it.
Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.

Terra Delyssa is a cheap ($) but tasty Tunisian oil that I use for general cooking, on the grill, etc.  Comes from Costco and it looks like it is popular here.

Olive&Olives New Harvest is a good quality Spanish oil.  It is a yearly special edition that comes from a single estate (Molí dels Torms this year).  I mostly use it as a finishing oil on pizza and soups.

Abbae de Queiles is a better quality oil from Spain that I use as a dipping oil, for salad dressing, and as finishing oil.  This is my oil of choice.

I also have a bottle of Familia Torres Dante’s Very Special Edition (handwritten label 50 limited edition bottle) and also from Spain that I keep for special occasions.

I get my olive oil from Olive&Olives which is a somewhat local (1.5 hour drive) store. It looks like they sell online too but I don’t know if they ship south of the border (https://oliveolives.com/en/).  I tend to prefer oils made with young Arbequina.

This right here, have to define “ uses for olive oil” all purpose , the nod goes to Kirkland , as a finisher or component , there are some fine local first press stuff out there

I hope whatever you get doesn't leak.  I've tossed two or three oil cans that always would leak thru the seams, leaving an oil ring on the counter.  I finally gave up and bought a polyethylene squeeze bottle with cap, and keep it in the cupboard.

I opened this package from Amazon today and within 3 minutes I had contacted them about returning this thing! While it was spun and therefore had no seams to leak it had no seal to keep air out and if it were to fall over or I dropped it then there would be oil all over everywhere! Teaches me to start reading the Amazon reviews from the bottom up, not top down!
