There are a couple sandwich shops here in Ogden that I won't go to, only because they make their sammiches too tall to get your mouth around.  I HATE that, and there's no sense in it, and I refuse to cater to them.  STCG does the same thing occasionally; if the thumbnail for one of his videos features anything taller than 2" or so, I won't watch it.
    Idiots!  :anguished:

you might like the subs at the country store by the camp, a ham and cheese sub has exactly one slice of ham and one slice of cheese. i have tried ordering it double stuff but its beyond the capacity of the sub maker. i started ordering a quarter pound of ham separate and a sub and put it together myself. i just go there now for the coffee and the sarcasm with the locals, place is funnier than any comedy club ive ever been too.
When I was in training in Chicago, there was a nook in the hospital, where they made decadent chocolate milkshakes... 4 huge scoops of chocolate ice cream, splash of milk, chocolate syrup, all blended up. It was a real treat post-call.

I asked for a strawberry milkshake one day. She just blinked slowly, and said "I don't know how to make that. I only know how to make a chocolate milkshake."

Seems she fit right in at the hospital as she was a specialist.

  • My go-to after class MickyD's order in high school was a Big Mac, a McChicken, large fries, vanilla shake.  Like 3 days a week, easy.  I had a different metabolism then.
In college I could eat a large meat-lovers pizza entirely by myself.  And I wasn't even smoking dope!

I worked at McD's when I was in college. Whatever food was left at the end of the night was going to get thrown away, so I could just take it back to the dorm. So I'd often "accidentally" fry up a whole bag of nuggets just before closing. I couldn't get away with taking that all back so I'd cram 30-40 of them in a 20 piece box to sneak it out the door for dinner that night.

one of my roommates back in college did the inventory after closing. we always had a freezer full of quarter pounder patties ready to cook.

Pffft, I was doing that in junior high—eating the whole pizza thing—smoking dope came much later…

You guys reminded me of junior year in college.  My roomie was delivering pizza for Dominos and always brought home the orders that were never picked up.  I put on 15lbs that semester.

Used to work at KFC after school when studying in England eons ago, imagine KFC dinner several nights a week. After the novelty wore off I would only eat a single piece fresh out of the pressure cooker.

When I was about 16, I had a good friend who was just a little older and worked at a KFC. Only a few weeks into the job, he was tied up and robbed at knifepoint, which was strange, because the town we grew up in was quite safe.

That is like half a story

    Did he quit?
    Did they capture the robbers?
    How much was stolen?
Was it part of a larger crime wave?

    Did he quit? Yes
Did they capture the robbers? I don’t think so. Was 20 or so years ago.
How much was stolen? Whatever was in the register. He wisely handed it over.
Was it part of a larger crime wave? No. Isolated incident.
I’d ask him for details, but we lost touch about a dozen years back. About two months ago, I heard him being interviewed on the radio, as he’s now a labour lawyer.

Nay. The secret seasoning was premixed and shipped to franchisees, they would mix the seasoning with flour on site. Chicken pieces were soaked in buttermilk before coated with seasoned flour, then deep fried in pressure cookers. Remember an incident when the day shift fella who was bandsawing each chicken into nine pieces accidentally added his finger tip(s) 😆

edit: bet they must have streamlined and automated the process many times since.
