Bitter winter means different things to people - but to me - SOUP!!!

RRPRRP Posts: 24,291
The other day I posted a picture of a fresh pot of my ham and bean soup. Today I made a big pot of my chicken, vegetable and cheese soup. It is SO rich and filling and now I have 4+ more pints in the freezer for more bitter winter nights ahead!

I'll be glad to share the recipe!

Temp here was 4 degrees, with -14 windchill in Kansas. I shoveled snow for 1 hour, and we had cheeseburger soup for lunch.  Man that hit the spot!

Interesting recipe, it’s not too salty?  Do you add water to the cream of chicken soup or the bouillon cubes?

Salty? Not in the least to us anyway and then besides that my wife always adds salt to her bowl.

I am going to have to copy this one down. Have you tried it with any other cheeses?

No, but I say why not?

OTOH veleeta melts so well and then stays mixed(surrounding)the other ingredients.

I am just more likely to have shredded cheddar on hand. 🤔 more ways to get rid of leftover 🦃.

A little sodium citrate will help keep that cheese emulsified.

    Or mustard, for that matter.

This might just be a rare, super nexus of puns and innuendo.   But I'm not gonna hang around and find out.
