Eggheads are nice folks

I have been welcomed by many eggheads, makes me feel right at home. I had a Traeger for 7 months and joined the Traeger Forum.  A lot times when you ask questions, etc you get in some cases get treated oddly. They seem to be b*llsacks. Thanks all for the warm welcome.  My LG Egg arrives Wednesday ...

Overall, this is one of the best forums I have joined. There is a bit of idiocy at times, with some name calling and such. But that happens everywhere, and my best advice is to ignore it. There is some great information here on cooking with the BGE and also many other topics. And the idiocy can be pretty entertaining!

Welcome, have fun, and cook a lot!

That's an understatement. Hang out here long enough, and the kindness shown by the denizens is overwhelming.

And, the madness is what makes it fun =) Welcome!

  • This forum is truly full of great people. I’ve had several folks send me things via post - despite me being in far flung Canada.

This place is quite a ride.  You will learn something new dang near every day-and much of which is no way related to BGE.  The knowledge and skill set of forum members is incredible.
If you have a question about most any topic-offer it here and you will get detailed and worthwhile info.

I have a Traeger too!  Bought it for $75.  Husband told wife to sell it, so she did.  Apparently, they didn't communicate real well because he was very upset as I was loading it in my truck and he asked his wife what she sold it for.

And, This really used to be a much friendlier place.

A toss up between that and "why is my pellet box on fire?"

Or “Why does my meat taste like smoke?”

I saw one of those Traeger pigs a store years ago, go snapped up quickly. If I were ever to get a standalone smoke it would be an Oklahoma Joe.  Better price point and burns lump and not pellets. But I do feel a MiniMax ...

Traegers are good for low and slow.  I had a poor experience with mine, I know people who have them, they seem happy. I prefer grilling over smoking but thats just me.
