OT - Mattress purchase

Despite wifey being super young and all (I swear that no one told me to say that!), she has some arthritis that can make sleeping uncomfortable. We are looking to replace our way-too-old mattress and were thinking of a Tempur-Pedic Pro-Adapt (may be exclusive to the Canadian market). With her condition, we’ve been told to go medium or firm - my preference is the latter. Any experience with Tempur-Pedic here, or any advice for a prospective mattress buyer? Looks like our current front runner would net us about $3K or so. Thanks.

Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme at my house. Dunno if they still make it or not. It’s about 8 years old. Zero complaints. It’s on the firmer side

I have the second firmest tempurpedic made (can't remember the model #) but I absolutely love it...
I have a bad back and I'm convinced it kept me from having back surgery another year or 2.

I would buy tomorrow.  Had mine since 2012

My ladyfriend has learned to like it..but she likes a soft bed.

The softer the Tempurpedic the more you will sink in it and could cause heat issues.

We are in Canada and purchased this one in a medium. The thing I liked was you can order a topper (no charge) for it if you don’t like the firmness. We bought a med knowing we could go up or down. We ended up getting a softer top for it at no charge 

If I was doing it again I would add the adjustable base.

We got the firm one with the adjustable also. I will say the zero gravity with vibration is awesome.

We got the firmest top of the line model (with the cool gel) a couple of years ago and I am happy with my purchase.  My side of the bed is not as firm as it used to be and definitely not as firm as SWMBO’s side.  We purchased it from Dormez-vous and I’ve never seen a discount on the top of the line model BUT we negotiated the price down by at least 800$.  Basically, we spent lots of time trying different models at Dormez-vous. There were discounts at Linen chests (but not for the specific model that we preferred which I believe is exclusive to Dormez-vous) and we basically told the sale lady that we decided to go for the model sold at Linen chest because of the discount.  She then offered a 500$ discount and I replied that I would not go for anything else than 800$ (matching the Linen chest discount) and she agreed.

They will try to sell you the house brand of mattress protector but if you get the tempur-pedic brand protector on the same invoice as your mattress, your mattress warranty gets extended (10 years?).

We went from a TempurPedic cloud for 10 years to a Puffy regular. Love it. Old Tempur was giving me serious lower back aches.

No real help, but we just bought/ordered a mattress from a local manufacturer. It came down to them vs TempurPedic. After several minutes of testing both we went with the local option. Money was about the same (~ 4k).
