My FiL was a farmer for years and has tried to show me "trucker's hitch" countless times when tying something off in the back of the truck or whatever. Each time he ties it just the slightest bit slower than his real speed and after three tries, I go back to bungees and ratchet straps. I think he's just torturing me.Love you bro!

edit: nice and tight on single anchor point, how do you keep it taut between two anchors though?
i put the loop on the left around the lower anchor, come back through the truckers loop with the tag end, then pull down hard with the tag end til its bow string tight, then half hitch it. its simpler than it looks. tie the top anchor, put the other side down around the lower anchor, and heres the trick....grap the line in the middle with one hand, twist once or twice with the same hand, put your finger withe the same hand thru the loop and grab the lower part of the line and pull thru, thats the loop you use to put the lower line back up and thru and cinch tight. if you see it done you dont need to remember how to tie it, its grab line twist, pull some line thru to make the loop, now we just put the other end of the line in to make it work like a rope winch. internet visuals arent always best. -

The Northrop-Grumman B-21 Raider, successor to the B-2, had its first flight last Friday and I never saw anything in the news about it until this morning. I worked on the support equipment for the B-2 from 1988-1992 when assigned to the Directorate of Nuclear Surety at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque; best job I ever had.

An elderly man rear-ended a younger man who was driving an expensive European sports car…
Enraged, the younger man hops out & confronts the old man. "Look what you did to my car…!!! ”He yells
"I demand that you give me $10,000 right now or I'm going to beat you to a pulp!"
"Oh my…" the old man said nervously, "I don't have that kind of money.”
“ Just let me call my son…,” he said with hope, “he trains dolphins and he will know what to do."
"Dolphins..!?!?! Right" the other driver huffed, while rolling his eyes.
The old man took out his phone, dialed his son, & just as his son answered, the irate man snatched the phone away from the old man.
"So, YOU'RE a dolphin trainer, huh..?!?!” The irate man yelled, “Well, your old man here just rear-ended my car and I need TEN GRAND right now, or I'm going to beat you AND your old man to a pulp…!!"
"I'll be there in 10 minutes," says the voice calmly on the other end.
Exactly 10 minutes later, a Jeep pulls up and a guy hops out and proceeds to pulverize the bully, leaving him in a heap on the side of the road.
When he finished, he walked over to his father and said….
" Dad .for the last time, I train Seals… Navy Seals.”
“NOT dolphins..!!”

Photographing the Sawtooth Mountains
https://petapixel.com/2023/11/22/photographing-idahos-picturesque-sawtooth-mountains-with-matt-suess/
A long read, but it and the 14-minute video (which is half an OM camera infomercial) brought back some happy memories. While stationed at Grand Forks I joined a couple week-long photo workshops in the Bitterroot Nat'l Forest, right next to the Sawtooth straddling ID and Montana. Guy who ran it used to be a guide for hunters, he knew where to find the elk, bighorn, and mountain goats, but gave up his guns for cameras. His wife was an outstanding cook both in the lodge and in the field. The first workshop we stayed in cabins on his property and toured the backroads every day, me and two other folks. The 80-yr-old lady was fascinating, a german immigrant who one morning told her story of escaping nazi Germany near the end of WWII, really cool.
The second workshop was the next summer, only two customers and the other guy cancelled at the last minute, so it was just me, the guide and his wife, their dog, and three llamas. We drove to a trailhead, packed the llamas with tents, a week's worth of food and clothing, and I was responsible for carrying my camera gear. It looked just like the scenery in the video, just gorgeous. Was kinda dicey carrying my expensive Nikons across a couple streams, and getting across one mountain was a bit difficult for me (I have a fear of heights). One morning I was startled awake by an elk bugling just a few yards away from our camp. We would fill our glasses with snow (in July) and water from various streams and springs, and mix in some Tang, really hit the spot. One overnight spot was along one of those bluewater lakes, not another soul around, just beautiful. I need to get back up there next spring.

@Botch - I’ve never been to that particular area of Idaho, only through the Tetons on Idaho’s east side. Beautiful country regardless."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike
