Is SRF still the standard around here for high quality beef? SWMBO recently graduated and got her first job as a RN so i'm going to order some steaks to celebrate. Wondering what else people recommend?
No briskets for now...still trying to get an end product i'm happy with using Costco prime.

That is fantastic!I order from SRF pretty regularly. I’ve also ordered from Holy Grail, Porter Road and Creekstone Farms. If you are wanting to splurge Holy Grail is the only online purveyor of Kobe Beef, and they also sell Wagyu steaks from other Japanese prefectures. You can’t go wrong with SRF. My favorites from them are tri-tips, briskets and pork chops.XL BGE, Large BGE, Small BGE, Weber Summit NGMemphis

@4TheGrillOfIt covers the playing field that I visit. I land at SRF more than the others. I have only been down the Japanese A-5 buy once. It was extremely rich and I am sure my palate did not fully appreciate it. But I will do it again sometime.
Congrats to SWMBO. That is great, especially in these times.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
If you want to splurge, check out some of their dry-aged steaks. I've bought a few over the years (sometimes with a brown water assist) and they're always incredible.
The other thing that's really a treat is their ribeye cap. Finally it's hard to beat a tomahawk ribeye just in terms of overall presentation potential.

SRF skirt steak is an amazing cut of meat.

I've got three in my refrigerator for later this week. Each is about 1.8-2.5 lbs. They don't require much if any trimming.

I think the best steak I ever had may have been the gold ribeye cap from SRF. That is a holy piece of beef.

Just ordered another black grade 9-12# brisket and a ribeye cap….Spinalis for the win

Here's a link thru crowd cow posted the afternoon that has Japanese A-5 selections: (Buckle Up!)

Should you select the above link and read about the BMS grading, as a reference I just spoke with SRF as their product descriptions used provide the BMS for their Black and Gold grade steaks and briskets but no longer. I was told SRF Black has a BMS of 6-8 and Gold 9-12. I do not have any affiliation with SRF other than the spend.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. In the interest of making it much simpler, here's a chart regarding the various beef grading criteria (and the wallet pain is about the same
).

All of you suck.
I just opened up the wallet and said take it, take all of it.

lousubcap mentions and I bought real waygu from crowdcow when they did their first trip to Japan and attended the grading ceremony. Man rich doesn't cover how this meat is. When you bite into it, it gushes! The meat was super super good. I had to try it once I thought but do see myself trying again and soon. Here is a couple pics of the ribeye.--

The box got here to day. Not much just to try them out. Two Japanese Waygu ribeyes, Waygu hamburger and Waygu and pork mix hamburger.

I just received another Crowd Cow Box containing a different farm's A-5 from my first buy:
A good friend on mine is rolling into town and has spent a few years in Japan. Figured this was a great treat and skill-set that doesn't require much other than nailing the finish. They are well and truly qualified as 1/2 inch or 1.27 cm thick cuts. Gonna be faster than my thermapen or Javelin can react with me at the helm. Sunday night for the win. No worries, no caveman here.13oz A5 Wagyu Ribeye Steak - Miyazaki Gyu Farm

I’m nervous and I’m not even cooking.
