My wife offered to host a wine night with some of her coworkers. She asked me to contribute something from the Egg. Although I’m looking forward to the get-together, I’m kind of drawing a blank at what I could make.
I think we (my wife) want to steer clear of the tailgate/bbq vibe and go for more refined dishes. That rules out Atomic Buffalo Turds, unfortunately…because that would be hysterical.
Other dishes inside will include cheese trays, charcuterie, bread bowls, etc…standard wine night snacks.
Any ideas as to what would be impressive and appropriate?
I grew up on bologna sandwiches on white bread, so this is not my strong suit.

Haven't tried that recipe myself, but you get the gist of it. There are tons of recipes out there.
I've been thinking of leaving the noodles out, and making some with shrimp, cukes, carrots, etc. Make them any way you want. The dipping sauce can also be as simple, or fancy, as you want.
They look like a great summer appetizer.

Then the food can be paired with the style of wine and a friendly blind tasting can pick a winner.
When we do this we set a price limit on the wine to avoid a 100 dollar bottle and a 5 dollar bottle showing up and creating a rift.
I like Zinfandel for grilled food, or Italian reds.
I'll look for a recipe to share

The original fresh salsa that @[email protected]"The Cen-Tex Smoker" posted with the exception of using fresh steamed tomatoes to keep the sodium levels down for Mrs3969 and a fresh Salsa Verde that I made yesterday.
