Honesty I havent been able to distinguish a difference when cooking salmon with/without a cedar plank other than the effort to soak the plank, but ease of getting it on/off the grill. Definitely will be trying a sweet chili glaze though in the near future!Lakeville, MN

@teamunited33, I find that with a plank and cooking at a lower temp, I am less likely to overcook the salmon than when I cook direct - larger margin of error if you will. But that's just me protecting myself from me...XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle
