Looking forward to this as well.
  • Managed to get one money shot in the heat of battle.  Funny my guests were standing in line while I was carving and I had to call an interruption just to take a quick picture.  I cooked 8 and they could only eat 4 of them before the meat comas took over.  Incredible meal.

    That is gorgeous!

At the risk of losing the little credibility I might have, can you explain what makes this "Louisiana Style" and what sides you served?

Way to deliver right there.  Great $$ shot that tells the story.  Congrats.

  • @ColbyLang Well I gotta say the dinner totally got away from me.  SWMBO and a friend changed everything on me at the last minute and turned it into a pot luck style dinner.  They felt sorry for me since I had to grill so much meat.  We did have 2 really good Louisiana dishes show up, a killer shrimp casserole and red beans with Tasso ham and venison sausage.  Lots of transplanted folks have moved into my neighborhood.  I learned long ago not to ask them to make traditional Louisiana dishes.  One of my neighbors is a Canadian and he brought the best smoked salmon I have ever had in my life.  Lots of compliments on the Tritip.  Most had never heard of it much less ever tasted it before.  Now they will be looking everywhere trying to find one.  Incredible meal and a small step toward back to normal.

    Sounds like a great time!

I misunderstood and thought "Louisiana Style" referred to the way the tri-tip was prepared / served.  Now I see that you had a Louisiana Style meal, which also sounds good!

I have one in my freezer and I am thinking I need to start thawing it out, soon.  Thanks for the inspiration!
