I haven’t posted in some time but I still touch base with the forum from time to time. I end up getting the virus at the first of this week and no clue where I got it from. My wife is a nurse so that’s a possibility and unfortunately I travel a lot for work. She has it and so does my 2 daughters age 6 and 18 months. Luckily my wife just lost taste and smell and no other symptoms and my girls are having no issues and are as wild as ever which is a plus. I on the other hand am struggling. Started out with head congestion and not being able to breath through my nose with zero air flow through my nostrils. Now fever has set in. It will spike to 102+ and then break back to normal. I have a little fatigue but nothing to be alarmed about. I’m reaching out to any members that has had the virus and to see how their experience went? I always wear my mask when out in public and social distance but it seems I might have been a little to careless and I’m paying the price. I have never felt like I’m going to die because my oxygen levels are at 98-100 and I have had no issues with coughing or breathing other then my not being about to breath through my nose. Stay safe everyone and trust me this virus is real and can beat you down mentally.

I don't know what your general health is, but in our region some outpatients are candidates for monoclonal antibody treatment to reduce (not fully eliminate - there are no absolutes with this disease) the risk of hospitalization.

Here are our criteria in South Texas.

If you meet them, you may ask your doctor if you're eligible.

*High risk for progressing to severe COVID-19 and/or hospitalization is defined as patients who meet at least one of the following criteria: • Have a body mass index (BMI) ≥35 • Have chronic kidney disease • Have diabetes • Have immunosuppressive disease • Are currently receiving immunosuppressive treatment • Are ≥65 years of age • Are ≥55 years of age AND have o cardiovascular disease, or o hypertension, or o chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/other chronic respiratory disease."

    Good luck with this.

Thank you unfortunately for the ground truth reality check.  I hope your symptoms abate as soon as possible.  Follow the recommendations of your medical providers.
Best of luck with this to you and your family.

I hope you get better quick!  I may have had it in April but they would not test me.  I ended up with pneumonia and it kicked my butt for a few weeks.

I am going to suggest that you post this on the main forum page for more people to see.  I don't think that many people here come to this OT section.

So far so good. Lost my taste and smell today and started to dry cough. I forgot to add I’m 36 years old and have no underlying health issues. Maybe a little over weight (5’10” 225lbs).

@QDude how do I post this topic to the main page? Back in the day when a person posted it went straight to the main page. 2020 keeps getting crazier.

I would just copy and paste to a new message on the main page.  It's a pain but I think it may help others.
