@Ozzie_Isaac - where has this cooking prowess been hiding?? What a banquet start to finish!

    Two things my friend:

    1. Freedom to cook anything I want.
    2. Met an amazing partner who happens to be a phenomenal cook and has expanded my horizons on ingredients and approaches. (Tomato dish was hers as was the drink!)

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I suspect your purchases of Ranch dressing are now approaching zero.

It has been refreshing and amazing.  Sounds cliche, but didn’t realize how much I lost fighting to make an untenable situation work.

Shouldn’t have been so fearful, it has been a blast.  Unemployed and homeless, lol, isn’t so bad - life of a drifter now 🤣.  I travel with my induction cooker, some pans, and my spices - making a killer French omelette seems to be an appreciated skill!!

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I jest - sort of.  Once business valuation and buyouts are done, I’ll be unemployed.  Not willing to work with my ex. In meantime, I’m gutting it out and being professional. Spousal support is a real and legit possibility and let’s just say not everyone is pleased with that possibility.

    😂

I think it’s the index of a child, but I can’t say it would surprise me if serving roasted eggplant could provoke a middle finger for some. My daughter often likes to flash peace signs or whatnot when I am taking food pics. Think she does it just to annoy me.

Ok… @fishlessman tipped me over the edge. Took a crack at meat pies.

Hot water crust. Ground beef, mixed veg, onion, garlic, and a couple of Japanese curry cubes for the filling.

They look wonky, but were pretty darn tasty.

Totally forgot most of the pics, but made a chicken apricot curry, lemon grass and clove rice, and a roasted onion and broccoli side with my partner.  Great after cooking and then hosting a dinner party.  Used “At Home with Madhur Jaffrey” - flavor combos were perfect but had to triple the seasoning she recommended.  Not sure why.

    Looks, and sounds, delicious @Ozzie_Isaac

Madhur Jaffrey is the longest serving ambassador of Indian cooking to Western audiences, and that book is a wonderful introduction. I love how it includes recipes from the sub-continent, not just India, and recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to cook Indian food.

But, yes, the recipes are spiced on the milder end. Your palate is past the 101 level, that's why you notice :)

team member gave me a bunch of zucchini
whipped up some recipe free zucchini fritters (flour, eggs, zucchini, herbs and spices)
kids (who hate zucchini) ate them up
heated up the leftovers on the griddle this morning to accompany pancake breakfast
    kids still loved them
told the kids they were zucchini fritters

wife and I now have all future fritters to ourselves

This is funny. How old are your kids?

caliqueen will often start with a treatise on a new food item, for caliprince. Drives me nuts, as I’m in the “just put it on the plate” camp.

11 and 13. I was a late bloomer.  For a couple of years in my 60s I had a wife in her 40s.

I remember seeing a recipe for zucchini chocolate cake and another for zucchini lasagna. Luckily all of my family loves zucchini including the grandnieces and grandnephews. Admittedly one of them doesn’t have teeth yet.
