Added these to the Easter menu thread, but here they are again. Sadly only four remaining in the fridge for our dinner.

Baseball night meant no time for anything elaborate. Made pizza bagels for one boy and a tuna fish sandwich and gogurt for my other boy. They told me that I needed to cook like that more often because it was “the most delicious dinner ever.”  😂

Looks amazing! We just had 30min beef stroganoff because I had some leftover sour cream from making cheesecake that I didn’t want to go bad. Used ground beef instead of slices to speed up the process.
Love the approach. We increasingly time meals to prevent food waste.

    Pappardelle?

Nice stir fry! Yes on pappardelle. I get really grumpy when food gets wasted. Been thinking for days what to do with the sour cream because it isn’t something I use often. Got rid of some garnishing split pea soup but that didn’t make enough of a dent.

Very nice, @GrateEggspectations . Love the colors in the bowl, and the vibe your daughter is sending out

I vote for spatchbutt to be included in the vernacular.

Happy that my last class was a fun one for our students. We cooked up mealworm tacos, chocolate chip cookies made from crickets, and had a nice honey tasting table. Looking forward to a celebratory meal tonight!

That is walking out the door organizing and presenting a memorable final class.  Way to leave on your terms with a plan for the next chapter.  Congratulations. 🍾
Enjoy the celebratory banquet, hopefully one where you aren't doing all the work.

@BeanHead - Your students will not forget that class anytime soon! Seems like you had a fun time for your last class.

    Enjoy your retirement!

It was a great last class followed by what will be one of my favorite meals! Sorry @lousubcap it is all me. I prefer my food with the exception of a few places/people. After 15 min up high the parm garlic artichokes will be thrown on the coals and the parm asparagus will be put on the grate, ~5-10 min later the beef will go on the coals, followed after the first flip by the lobster on the coals for 2-3 min.

I have a kick ash basket with a divider that makes the CI grate mostly indirect. So I set the asparagus with the stem ends near the coals and the tips near the cool side so they do not scorch.

Congratulations, @beanhead. Looks like a perfect day on all fronts. Drooling over your plate, here - your dinner, I mean (though the mealworm tacos did pique my interest, and I’ve eaten insects before).

Thanks @GrateEggspectations I enjoyed my lunch mealworm tacos, but not as much as my coal charred sea dwelling roaches for dinner 😆

ps. We did have chopped cilantro for the students for their tacos, 1/20 said they would rather eat a bug than cilantro. Leading me to believe this gene is more dominant then reported.

I don't know where to start.  What a documented banquet with juggling at the forefront.  It all looks fantastic and worthy of your celebration. I love your prowess with using the lump coals to achieve the end game.
I trust the red wine is just the teaser for a protracted and most enjoyable celebration of a well deserved transition to the next chapter.
Above all, be happy-you have earned it!

It is one of my favorite reds, but it was followed by a heavy neat
pour of Buffalo Trace with my meal. Truly memorable meals and a day.
