I'll tell you what I'm not buying ..
Researchers, from McGill University, recently reported that proximity to pregnant and lactating female mice increased stress hormones in males
I could have told them that. Heck, the last time I hung out with pregnant and lactating female mice I was a complete wreck within a mere two days. Sure, in the pamphlet it looked like a lot of fun, better than an ant farm they said, more snugglier than hermit crabs, and easier to see than sea monkeys.
First of all, ant farms have a gazillion ants so you know some of them had to have been pregnant and lactating, and I was around them for days at a time.. never felt an increase in stress at all, ever. I'm not even sure ants have breasts and I had maybe 300 of them in my place, they shipped me six mice and between them they have 36 breasts. It's unfair of them to even compare the two.
Hermit crabs aren't snuggly that's true, but what they don't point out, is that neither are these pregnant and lactating mice. Once they get to the second trimester, it's just a grey fuzzy confusion of giant everything, the belly, the bum and the six breasts each, and it's like .. no matter how you grab them, it's too sensitive and all the frantic squeeking starts. Sure you could pick it up by the tail, but how much snugly is a pregnant mouse tail then a hermit crabs beak? Not much I think
The sea monkeys are really tiny, and for all I know they may have 7 breasts each, although that would be odd, but because you need some magnification to see them, people think they're really hard to see. I contend that they're still easier to see than six pregnant and lactating mice especially when the mice get so big that they lay around on their back all of the time. Sometimes they line up in a row like that and it looks like the fuzzy underside of three egg cartons, till you see the nipples on top of course.

JohnInCarolina said:Went to a major furniture warehouse/showroom this morning with the wife to do some shopping (I was there under protest, trust me). The main goal of this place seems to be to set hard-earned money on fire.
We were there with a designer who is helping us with the home and one of the sales associates, looking at various things. One of the things we were looking at was a chandelier for our foyer that costs every penny of $3k plus. I was like, really? This is a thing made mostly from metal that hangs above most people's heads that largely just serves as a extra large, decorative light, and you want... three thousand dollars for it? Who do I look like, Daddy Warbucks?
Well we're looking around and I spot one that I like better, so I point it out to the wife. She also likes it better! And so I walk over to it fully expecting it to cost the price of a large Hyundai and low and behold it is on clearance for... $300! Sold! Still about $250 more than I want to pay for a friggin light but it's a bargain compared to what we were being sold.
But I swear the whole experience was worth it just to see the sales associate's face melt like that guy's at the end of Raiders when he realized we went from seriously discussing a $3k purchase to one that was a fraction of that. Almost made the whole thing worth it.
but how much was the big bureau.....

Stopped at a local butcher/BGE dealer yesterday and found the BGE charcoal basket for my xl ($31.99). Picked it up bc the cast iron one is cracked. Any one have one of these baskets… how would it compare to the KABXL BGE, KJ classic, Joe Jr, UDS x2

Picked up a cute little Le Creuset pot that I am using for my salt holder.

Maintenance free patio set (square table and 4 chairs). Found a good deal and it's got a 20 year warranty. Big proponent of the "buy once, cry once" mentality. Should be here next week!

After melting my wife's armrest in car a week or so back I picked up a 4 more led work lights. You can't beat the price and won't feel guilty about tossing my old work lights.

Looking into a new petty knife, not sure if I really want a knife with a lot of tenacity.
"Materials: INOX AUS 8 (8A) steel, rust-resistant knife for commercial use. A mixture of 0.10%-0.25% molybdenum lends the blades in this series an additional tenacity, making them more difficult to chip and giving them a sharper edge."Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

Is there anyone with the below chairs on here that has had them face a few harsh winters (e.i., lots of snow, ice, etc.)? Was thinking of getting them for the back lawn. About $400 for both at Costco, taxes in. Made in Canada. I’d go grey. Just got two for my F-I-L’s birthday, but kinda want some for my own as well.Paging my GWN brothers and sisters.
