It was.  Note the heat shield remains. Cats get hot.  They probably cut an O2 sensor off too.

Sorry to see that. Really sucks. When I’m in situations like these, I try to remember that there’s lots of good in the world and that these types of acts are often performed out of desperation (and sadly, often to feed an addiction).

I’ve been buying and spending way too much lately. Started with a new fish tank, Sony a90j 83” and a BMW M8 and now I’m broke 😂
    First, Welcome, and Congrats.

Secondly, Thank You, I feel slightly better now:

thank you for the welcome, member since 7/21 but not many posts but read a ton.  Forgot to add that to my list but my work paid for mine luckily.. Hope it's all they promised it to be, time to retire the mac pro.  I opted to use my LG G1 oled 65 inch in my office instead of the monitor, might be overkill lol

Just throwing this out there, but I would bet lunch you are also on an Aquarium forum?  Having an aquarium of that size requires a lot of knowledge and dedication.  That is a beautiful setup!  When will you add fish?

Currently have fish from my previous Red Sea 350 in it, NASO tang, HEPA tang, and a Darwin Clown pairs.  Adding a few more tangs this weekend.  This year marks 20 years with a Saltwater tank and they have not all be happy years as these suckers do leak sometimes.   I'm not on forums as much as i would like, work to much to pay for the hobbies lol
Very nice tank. I previously had a 110 gal reef tank with a 100 gal refugium in the basement. Way too much money in lighting, rock, corals, fish, pumps, skimmers, kalk reactors, automation system, the electric bill, etc. I do miss sitting in the home office with a bourbon in hand just relaxing and watching the tank for hours.

I had a pair of clarkii’s and I would love watching them grab pieces of food and feed the nem, along with the gorgeous colors on the crocea.

  • I am starting to get a lot of my normal groceries online.

I commented a week ago about making Jerky with the egghead which I was able to do but, I need to improve as it was still a bit tender.

At the moment I have been buying off tap on Amazon, or their site direct, beef jerky in different flavours.  Its my gaming snack of choice! I would be interested if anyone had a recipe they have tried with their own egghead for jerky?

Here’s one I make often, courtesy of an egghead friend. I make batches when I’m training, for a high protein snack. If you vac seal before freezing, it keeps well for years.

    Beef jerky recipe (from @vb4677)

    Peppered Beef Jerky

    INGREDIENTS

1 (12-oz.) can or bottle Dark Beer

    1 cup Soy Sauce

    1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce

    3 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

1 Tbsp. Morton Tender Quick Curing Salt (Optional)

    1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder

3 - 4 Tbsp., divided Coarsely Ground Black Pepper

2 lbs. Trimmed Beef Top or Bottom Round, Sirloin Tip, Flank Steak, or Wild Game

    METHOD

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the beer, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Curing salt, garlic powder, and 2 tablespoons of black pepper.

    • With a sharp knife, slice the beef into 1/4-inch thick slices against the grain. (This is easier if the meat is partially frozen.)

    • Trim any fat or connective tissue.

    • Put the beef slices in a large re-sealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade mixture over the beef, and massage the bag so that all the slices get coated with the marinade.

    • Seal the bag and refrigerate for several hours, or overnight.

    • Remove the beef from the marinade and discard the marinade.

    • Dry the beef slices between paper towels.

    • Sprinkle the beef slices generously on both sides with the pepper. Arrange the meat in a single layer directly on the grill grate.

    • Smoke for 4 to 5 hours at 180F, or until the jerky is dry but still chewy and somewhat pliant when you bend a piece.

    • Transfer to a re-sealable plastic bag while the jerky's still warm. Let the jerky rest for an hour at room temperature. Squeeze any air from the bag, and refrigerate the jerky. It will keep for several weeks.

    NOTES

01/21/17 - 2.5lbs Beef Top Round Steak, vacuum marinated and refrigerated 12 hours, used garlic powder instead of garlic salt, used 1 Tbs of fine ground pepper in marinade instead of course ground. Used 1 bottle of Deschutes Obsidian Stout. Smoked over mesquite & hickory for approx. 3 hours at 180-200F.  Used 3  baker racks.

No engine needed, it never moves. Basically a holiday home by the sea.

@GrateEggspectations , I just pick up the slices and let excess marinade drip off, why soak/wipe off the goodness?

Works well to clean out hard water deposits in your automatic dishwasher.  With dishwasher empty, use it in place of the normal detergent and run a full cycle.
