Yeah. I've watched so many AvE videos I've adopted his language.

Highly recommend his videos on YouTube if you want to expand your vocab.

    Factory termination. Looking good.

@alaskanassasin I get that cable complaint now.  Don't but that tech flex. It's not great against the other braids on the OEM cables.  Almost incompatible.

I'm thinking zip ties for the moment.

    😎

They are good/informative/entertaining videos (I mean who doesn't enjoy a good teardown?) and you clearly seem like someone that always keeps their d!ck in a vise.

Yeah he has a keen sense about build quality doesn't he?

I wonder what he'd do with a SmoBot.

I'd hope to be part way cooked by now, but after I borked my SmoBot, I snuffed out the fire and went to bed.

I'm going to see if I remember how to slow and low with100 natural aspiration.

It's not really clear if you skim the photos, but I youtubed the outcome of that reset button.  Sorry everyone - Remember don't press that recessed reset button

Maybe you just need to re-reset it

I did duplicate what I did the first time to see if it would accomplish what I think you're saying.  Assuming two partitions, maybe I could toggle back to my original partition, boot, and be happy right?

But you know.  I'll power cycle it some, see if I can get different responses.   I mean, may as well bang on the thing at this point.

Good advice.  I appear to have either won or waited long enough. But she is out of her coma and back in the saddle.

    sage advice. and much appreciated.

I am thinking about a 3D printed stand. If it could secure into the Makita belt clip.  And articulate.  It'd give it the weight it needs to not flop around and i could see the screen from inside the house better.

No results for SmoBot on thigiverse.....

Can anyone in the classroom please tell me what is wrong with this web page?

I wish I could both like and agree to a post (cuz I think it's funny!).  But the show must go on....

Our pupil @legume has an interesting response to the question.  However, it is incorrect.

The correct answer "we're not encrypted".

Which, in and of itself is not really a big deal right?  It's just a device sitting on your network, next to all your other devices right?  I mean, use a unique password (you do use unique passwords, RIGHT???), don't be a bonehead... etc.

The fact that they're not just redirecting you to a SSL site (like PayPal does, and you don't even notice it), tells me that security is not on the forefront of their mind.

Now, I don't want to extrapolate too far with that thought.  That's all I'm gonna tell ya.

    Will I log in?

    Nah.

And now while I have your attention, go find out who's already leaked your data here.

I think at this point all of us know better than to click on a link that might bring us to an unsecure website.  Nice try though.

You guys are all star students.  One click and I would have had ya.

And did I mention that when I check out on websites that have a PayPal option, I always take that?  I figure it's one throat to choke rather than wondering where I used my credit card at.

So I didn't expose my CC details to FB

It's only fair to give FB the same scrutiny.

Well, I got rained out in the field today.  Maybe later.

When I got home.  I figured it was time to mash some buttons on the SmoBot.  I went back to my laptop to see if SMOBOT WIFI was advertising as open for business.

Nothing....  Just the usual suspects "The Brothel" - and a new one named "bonehead" - all lower case.  I can't make this stuff up.

Well, AvE would say something funny about angulation and the difference between two very nearby places on the human anatomy.   But I don't get the feelin' this is the crowd for that level of raunch.

Was SmoBot still upset about me violating her lastnight?  It was late... and I was drinking... please forgive me.

So I try to get my head out of the gutter and back into the game here.  What's wrong?  It's keeping the temps.... but no wifi.

    I continue mashing buttons.

<see photo of screen with WIFI: OFF - WIFI AP: ON above>

I figure this scenario might get me a web page I can look at to see what's going on....

SMOBOT WIFI shows up in my list of APs....

    sweet.

everything looks good.  i'm still on some backup/dev version of the code.  but operationally, it's operating.  what else can I say?

I'd like a graph, a historian, and all that stuff......  what's that you say?  I have to go to the cloud for that???

    @legume - lamp or chair?

@caliking - yeah that's the stuff.  - thank you for the offer but I'm going to see how I do with the zip ties so far.

How would you dress the ends of that mesh?  In automotive, probably high-temp tape.  And I wonder if it'd get scratchy on the hands since it is 'glass????

Neither, I don’t need a lamp to see or a chair to rest.

I took a wire twist  tie (the kind on bags of bread), and stripped the paper off, leaving only the wire. Tied the ends tight, using pliers. Done!

Didn't take much to bury the twisted end in the sleeving. If you can run with scissors, you got this =)

Unless you're trying to wank your probes on a Sat night or something. Then, yeah, you might cut your hands.

20 degrees in 2 hours?  The only way i know how to do that is foil or paper wrap.

300 set point but i had the lid up.

And another note  Looks like it's a sealed unit and there's a rubber on top.  Noice.

    Because.  Science.
